The problem with the term "sex Offender" is that it makes one think pedophile or child molestor which is not always the case.
In some states allowing two 17 year old kids to have sex in your house will get you the label of sex offender.
This term should only be used for rapists and pedophiles and if they are dangerous why are they not in jail.
maybe if the police stopped spending 70% of their time and money busting marijuana smokers and other non-violent drug users and actually focused on real criminals we would have the prison space and resources to stop real crime and keep real criminals locked up.

As regards to this issue in NYC, Probation has a special unit for sex offenders. These officers are to meet with each and every offender once a week in their office. (Retarded idea since this proceedure seriously conflicts with the probationer being able to carry on a regular job and makes the Probation officer waste countless hours when he could be focusing on cases that are a serious threat). The Halloween curfew is also retarded. Mostly it has started after 6pm when work was over and when in NYC most kids were home. I was out today and almost no kids were alone without adult supervision. The sex offender PO Officers are so overworked that no one wants the job. In the past few months several of the vintage and really good officers just decided to up and leave.

Here is a fun case. Sex Offender "A" had sex with his 16 year old girlfriend. "A" was 19 at the time. He received 10years probation and a life sentence of reporting to the registery. Soon he will be marrying this 16 year old girl who is now 21. There are so many cases like that which carry rediculous sentences.

Recently NYC Probation changed the reporting forms that sex offender counseling services used. They went from a really comprehensive report to a one page check list. This was done because the officers dont have time to read long reports about their clients.

By the way, my grand daughter at 13 nearly died from illegal drugs given to her. I would love to know all the dealers out there, because they dont just screw with kids, they actually kill them.

3/4 of the comments from Huffposters on these stories defended, made excuses for, and empathized with the child molesters caught by Hanson. There were also many comments attacking the show and Hanson.
I can't believe Huffposters aren't posting asinine comments defending these pervs that are being kept from the kiddies on Holloween. Could it be even Libs are starting to get it?
