AP:

Turkey's prime minister said Tuesday increased military action against separatist Kurdish rebels was "unavoidable" and pressed the United States for a crackdown on guerrilla bases in northern Iraq.

Turkish helicopters pounded rebel positions near the border with rockets for a second day and Turkey brought in troops by the truckload in an operation against mountainside emplacements.

Now in true Middle Eastern fashion a weak country gets torn into bits.
In my opinion Iraq is no longer a viable state. This may or may not be a good thing.
There are simply too many variables to predict whats going to happen.
Anyone tell you otherwise is selling something.

A man was walking across a bridge one day and he saw another man standing on the edge, about to jump off and commit suicide. He immediately ran over and said “Stop! Don’t do it!”
“Why shouldn’t I?” the other said.
The man said, “Well, there’s so much to live for!”
“Like what?”
“Well … are you religious or atheist?”
“Religious.”
“Me too!
Are you Muslim, Christian or Jewish?”
“Muslim.”
“Me too!
Sunni or Shiite?”
“Sunni.”
“Me too!
Hanafi, Hanbali, Shafi or Maliki?”
“Hanafi.”
“Wow! Me too! Do you follow Sheikh Fulaan al Fullani or Sheikh Kaza Kazah?”
“Sheikh Fulaan al Fullani.”

“What?!! Die, heretic scum!” and pushed him off.

The surge is good. Gen. Petraeus will lay out some talking points for you, maybe even a slide show, or produce a local Kurd on the take.

Now that Sadam, the only one who was able to keep the kurdish terrorists under control is dead, The Kurdish terrorists are brave and kill innocent people at will. The turkish government has to put them down, if for no other reason, to keep them from starting armageddon. The Kurds have to be protected from themselves. They need to get their terrorist side under control.

Of course it is unavoidable. When you seek to eliminate a whole ethnic group they are going to fight back.

Throw in Pakistan and Iran and you have the makings of WWIII.

Make sure you sign up for Selective Service cause the draft is coming. We will once again be the largest police force the world has ever seen and it's going to take more than 300,000 boots on the ground to do it.
