Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has lashed back at President Bush after undergoing days of severe White House criticism.

"What does he have to show for his presidency?" Pelosi said during a press briefing today, ripping into the legacy that Bush often says will vindicate his time in office.

"He is the President of the United States already talking about his library -- what is he going to have in the library?" she asked. "A tax cut for the wealthiest people in the country at the expense of the middle class and a war without end that is a total failure?"

Pelosi said that Bush's failures have forced him to employ tactics that are "beneath the dignity of the office that he holds and I don't want to go there with him."

Watch the video:

Transcript:

We have a saying here we are standing from a position of great confidence and great bipartisanship on these fights that we are making. The President is not attuned to the majority of the country and the majority of the Congress. So what is he to do? He is the President of the United States. What does he have to show for his presidency? He is the President of the United States already talking about his library. What is he going to have in the library? A tax cut for the wealthiest people in the country at the expense of the middle class and a war without end that is a total failure? So he has to talk about something and he stoops to a level, in my view, that is beneath the dignity of the office that he holds and I don't want to go there with him.

Free line for Democrats

"Mr. Bush, I hope you have a V.A. Hospitol in your library to tent to the soldiers you sent illegally to die and be injured"

Those of us in the 70%+ world are not being represented. pelosi and reid are smart people, they read the polls (they even commission them), they hear from their constituents. They know that the majority want impeachment and wanted it started the day after the new Congress was sworn in. That they haven't done anything and that they support people such as joe LIEberman tell you all that you need to know about their priorities. All of the dancing around to support w that they have done indicates that either they are a twin of the rethug party or w has threatened them with a devastating punishment. As has been pointed out, their legacies are no better than w's.

Well, Madame Speaker, what do you have to show for your time in office? I agree with your statements about Bush, but the Dems have been ineffective in slowing the Chimp one bit. So far: blah blah.

Stop the war funding. Impeach.

She is correct for the most part. "I don't want to go there with him." Ms. Pelosi, we are sinking because of this hole in the boat. We don't have to go there with him. That's why impeachment is in our Constitution. Most likely, if proceedings were started (Heaven knows we have a list of impeachable offenses that would stretch from here to Jupiter), it would take as long as Bush has. Chances are this arrogant fool would not step down.

Chances are most likely that we would at least neutralize him and, possibly, be able to get something done in this country.

What is his legacy? What is your legacy? It would appear to any thinking person that the Democrats bear equal responsibility in taking this country down the wrong path. We must start impeachment NOW!

At least, it will show others that we will not tolerate anymore anti-American administrations.

Obstruction is a two way street, it might prevent further damage from being done. Tying up congress while Waxman investigates may turn the tide. Lord knows the people want, & need answers.

One thing that Bush has to show for his presidency is all the powerful people, like Ms.Pelosi, who willingly helped him, every step of the way,to inflict his evil, murderous greed on the world!

Oh Puhllleeeeaase!!! Who the hell does she think she's kidding? Ms "Impeachment is off the table" and "Let me swoon in your mighty presence, Mr. Bush" Pelosi. Ms "we have to concentrate on the *important* issues, that's why we're not doing what the majority of the American people mandated us to do, by impeaching Bush/Cheney and ending the war in Iraq". Ms "Let's give Mr. Bush the power and the option to attack Iran as well, without even having to ask for the opinion or the blessing of Congress". Ms. "our hands are tied in funding the Iraq war because we don't want to seem like we're turning against our troops". Oh yes, may whoever is in charge out there preserve us from the many accomplishments of Ms. Turncoat, Traitor Pelosi.

Why compare Pelosi to Bush, its silly,

Pelosi may not be doing exactly what we all want but
she make bush look like the chimp that he really is.

Let's hope the Speaker of the House showing some resolve can motivate others on both sides of the aisle?

She can't do this alone.

As others who can't do math or are unfamiliar with the laws of the land flail and bitch about. Kicking the slats from their cradles of expensive medications.

And, Ms. Pelosi, what do you have to show for YOUR time in Congress.

Were you not elected to end the war in Iraq?

Why did you take impeachment off the table, or at least not recognize your mistake and put it back on?

Did you lead Congress to override Bush's veto of SCHIP?

What will be recorded as YOUR accomplishments on behalf of the American peoplem eh?
