Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday her status as the Democratic presidential front-runner -- not her gender -- has led her male primary rivals to intensify their criticism of her.

"I don't think they're piling on because I'm a woman. I think they're piling on because I'm winning," Clinton told reporters after filing paperwork to appear on the New Hampshire primary ballot.

"I anticipate it's going to get even hotter, and if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. I'm very much at home in the kitchen," she said.

Hillary Clinton is an honorable woman.

I find this tactic by the Clinton campaign at best distracting and at worst, absurd. We're all agreed that Clinton's campaign is run very well by her Rovesque adviser, Mark Penn, but the idea that this machine can be implemented at the expense of the substantive and dire issues of this election is vulgar.

I truly appreciate that Senator Obama can respond with a rational statement, despite Lauer's attempts to coax him into a misstep. There is an upcoming article in the Sunday Times magazine section that will continue this false narrative -- that Obama is too nice and Clinton and her well-oiled machine are unbeatable. It's typical front-runner tactics of parsing her opinion on each issue during the debate, and instead of confronting the critiques aimed at her, she chooses to accuse them (without accusing them) of being a unified front -- a misogynist one at that. Hillary Clinton is an honorable woman.

Well, duh!? Of course she's being piled on. The frontrunner at this point always is. What, is Hillary that clueless that she doesn't understand that the frontrunner going into the primary is always the target of the other candidates? Or is she just pointing out the obvious? She's not being singled out because she's a woman, it's because she's the frontrunner and there are a LOT of questions to be asked about her campaign. A true leader understands right away that being "piled on" is a test, of sorts...an initiation. The sort of candidate that can win an election is one that takes it as a test.

It's to see whether or not the frontrunner can hold up in a brutal election against a much more hostile foe. Being "beat up on" by people in your own party is far more gentle than being picked on by someone from the other political parties. If Hillary thinks this is harsh, then she should back out now...because it's a lot easier to take shots at people when they're not standing right next to you in front of a live audience. If Hillary is just learning this, then she's not ready for this. Howard Dean was the same way, and his stance on the issues was far more solid, solidified the Democratic base far better than than Hillary's platform is/does.

It is just plain to me that she's not ready for this. Edwards, Obama, and Dodd did what they're supposed to, and that's to test the frontrunner.

"Sens. Charles Schumer and Dianne Feinstein say they will vote for Attorney General-nominee Michael Mukasey, which likely gives him enough support to pass the Senate Judiciary Committee."

Where have you gone Russ Feingold, our nation turns its lonely eyes to you.

Flip Flop Flippity Flop. Obviously Hellary and her team weren't sure which direction to spin on the situation.

So they'll see which way the wind blows: play the oh, those immature, pesty bad boys ganging up on me card -- or -- the stronger, more confident-sounding approach, since I'm the frontrunner these jealous others are just trying to knock me down.

As a woman, I found the former narrative extremly annoying: it made her sound like a little cry baby, boohoo, I just hate those boys - their always picking on me boohoohoo. Not very tough and confident sounding, plants the seeds that maybe a woman really cannot handle the position after all.

Anybody, I mean troll, who remarks on Hillary Clinton's looks should take a good hard look at the republic slate of candidates.

The only one who looks semi handsome is a dept. store mannequin with hair.

The rest could stop a train traveling 150mph at 3 miles.

Thanks Barack!

It's too bad Hillary thinks that every time a candidate is criticized, it's because she's a woman or someone of a different skin color or some other bias.

Barack has it right: She was criticized because she's unable to give a straight answer to a simple question. It's not because of her gender.

This "I'm a victim" politics is not what we need in the presidential race.

Bottom line: Hillary stunk this week. She had a terrible performance. We all do from time to time.

But, do we all think that it's because of our gender or ethnicity every single time???

This ain't hard, folks.
Ask yourself, "If elected, is this candidate likely to improve you health care or likely to rob you at the gas pump.

In the year 2000, people of this country were sick to death of the name Clinton. Ironically, George W. Bush himself changed that. Because of his horrid eight years, Hillary has a chance.

I certainly never thought Hillary would ever become president. But that was before Dubya.

If she does win the nomination, you hillbillies can lay the blame squarely at the feet of your cult leader. And the fact that none of the Repub candidates are worth a shit.

Poll gives Hillary Clinton big lead over Giuliani
By Alex Spillius in Washington
Last Updated: 9:07pm GMT 01/11/2007

Hillary Clinton has been comforted after a mauling by her Democratic rivals by a new poll which places her ahead of Rudy Giuliani in the event of a presidential contest between the two.

The survey, conducted by the respected Pew Research Centre, is one of the largest taken during the campaign, involving 2,000 prospective voters.

It placed the former first lady eight percentage points ahead of the Republican former New York mayor - by a margin of 51 per cent to 43 per cent - and showed that she is making ground among areas of the electorate that have been solid Republican for the past two to three decades.

Mrs Clinton leads Mr Giuliani, considered the favourite to win the Republican nomination, in the South, and polls evenly among voters who attend church once a week.

The New York senator's gender is also an advantage, with a 20-point lead among women voters, more than the usual margin for Democrat candidates.

Another recent poll found that as many as 18 per cent of Republican women were considering voting for Mrs Clinton.

Whats the tally.

17 to 1 or so.

Well it looks like there will be 17 male carcasses left at the side of the road.

Watch out the Hillary Bus is coming through.

[Kucinich sadly will be out of the race before the VT primary, I thought his UFO joke was quite funny]

Hillary is the establishment.

She says nothing and everything with every breath.

Hillary will be wrong for this country.

Business as usual won't do.

Ron Paul is the only contender (at this point in the race) that truly offers a difference.

The name calling about Rupaul etc... shows the desperation of the trolls.

Since a politician admitted an error?
