Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday her status as the Democratic presidential front-runner -- not her gender -- has led her male primary rivals to intensify their criticism of her.

"I don't think they're piling on because I'm a woman. I think they're piling on because I'm winning," Clinton told reporters after filing paperwork to appear on the New Hampshire primary ballot.

"I anticipate it's going to get even hotter, and if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. I'm very much at home in the kitchen," she said.

If being female and the wife of an ex-president were missing from Senator Clinton's resume, there would be little left to give her such high standing among the candidates. You can also throw in her ability to be politically astute which is the only credential legitimately left in her bona fides to be president. However she demonstrates poor understanding of the kind of diplomacy needed to put out nation back on track in this world. She follows and does not lead as all her proposals show heavy borrowing from other sources. This is not a sin, but it is not leadership. No great social or political movement's leader was looking to be the first in their group, they strove to bring necessary and legitimate rights and changes to all. With such wishy washy answers by the Senator, although delivered in stentorian tones, it remains what it is, not much to crow about.

If Hillary makes a campaign promise to nuke Iran, Syria & North Korea, then I'll consider voting for her.

Until then, I'll support Rudy Giuliani, and hope he chooses Joe Lieberman as his running mate. Then I know my family will be safe from killer terrorists.

If the kitchen's too hot, then you need to
install a fan, or something, or don't leave
all the burners on at the same time. Cutesy
sayings don't qualify you to be the prizzynader...taking a firm stand on the war
issue, yeah, speaking OF kitchens, is Hillary
working part-time at IHOP? There sure seem to
be a lot of 'waffles' when she's around...
maybe she and John Kerry could open up an
eatery? Better that than the oval office,
I think...

Why not ask Edwards and Obama for a timeline?

US military presence will be in Iraq for many years, no democratic or republican president can dislodge our military presence. NO ONE can put a timeline for US troops withdrawal from Iraq not counting Afghanistan. Any of these candidates who'll make a promise they'll withdraw the troops next or even dare to put a timeline, is lying to their teeth, they should consult THE PENTAGON. Right now USA is spending $350 millions a day in Iraq. A family of four is spending $7,500.00 for this war in Iraq. The office of Budget prior to invasion of Iraq stated it would only cost between $50-60 billions, well they're pretty short on that. The expenses now in Iraq is close to a TRILLION, this invasion in Iraq is the MOST expensive adventure of a LUNATIC PRESIDENT, second only to WW2.

For Bush a $35 billions (5 years) for SCHIP to help uninsured child is expensive, but his ILLEGAL WAR in Iraq is cheap.

NO ONE can withdraw our troops from Iraq whoever is the next President. The US military is already building PERMANENT military base in Iraq, its plain pipe dream and naivete the next president can make a promise to deliver it. I oppose the invasion of Iraq from the very beginning, I was called a commie, spit on and what have you when I joined veterans in their demonstration against this ILLEGAL WAR of Bush. Now, I can laugh at those who supported Bush with his adventurism in Iraq that is costing this country BILLION OF DOLLARS!

I WAS RIGHT, THEY WERE WRONG!

Call Hillary the robo-candidate. She tailors her every word based on Mark Penn's polling.

She is the anti-leader. No integrity.

Only Picasso could have portrayed her 2,3,4,5,6...facedness. She is the cubist candidate for our time!

Where is Tammy Wynette when we need her. I bet she would have something to say about this. I missed the debate, but it sounds as if both Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama have folks willing to vote for them despite their recent transgressions. I am still hoping for a miracle in Iowa.

Meridith Wilson once wrote a song about Iowans. "Nothing half way bout the Iowa way of treatin you if we treat you which we may not do at all." Here is hoping Mrs. Clinton is the later and John Edwards the former. Mr. Obama just appears to be a lost soul to me. Poor chap. He's nice, but so all over the map. At least he is not dull, nor predictable. Giordy

Its kinda funny to look at group of men stymied during debate. Yes, Hillary can strut with them without a doubt. The more I watch how she gave her rebuttal during debates with her fellow democrats, it affirms my decision to cast my vote on her for primary and presidential election. Hillary Clinton is like a breath of fresh air in the arena of wolves and monkeys that will swallow anyone whole at a drop of hat if they showed any weakness or fumble.

Good job Hillary!!!!!

Instead of channeling Harry Truman, perhaps Sen. Clinton will give us a timeline and specifics on how she will end the war in Iraq.
