New York Times:

A central tenet of every leading Republican candidate's campaign for president is one simple and powerful idea: I alone can best defend the United States from the threat of terrorism.

And in recent weeks, three candidates, Rudolph W. Giuliani, Mitt Romney and Fred D. Thompson, have embraced some of the more controversial policies on the treatment of those suspected of supporting terrorism, backing harsh interrogation methods and refusing to rule out the use of waterboarding, a simulated drowning technique, on detainees.

Their public statements came as the debate over whether waterboarding is torture had threatened to derail the nomination of Michael B. Mukasey as attorney general after he refused to call the technique illegal.

Since they are advocating committing crimes they are not eligible to become President. The U.S. has prosecuted warterboarding as a crime.

They all should be tried for crimes under U.S. and international law.

Oh, Rudy used intensive questioning techniques during his reign as the world's mayor.
Then why didn't he question Bernie Kerik intensively, when he put him on his payroll.

O.K. but they must all be waterboarded during the next debate, then we will move on to attaching jumper cables to their balls. If they still say it's not torture, I'm convienced.

Among the endless supply of absurdity, this latest:

"The Iraqis are beginning to take their country back." GWB 11/2/07

Mr. Decider, one Question: Taking it back from WHOM?

Libs, always protecting the murderer, never the innocent victim.

Because to them, the murderer is a victim.

Those who were killed deserved it.

Right?

Of course they all support waterboarding now . . .

But let's see if they are still cheerleaders for torture when charges are filed against Bush, Cheney, Yoo, Gonzales, Rumsfeld, and a host of other Bush Cronies for torture and other crimes against humanity.

Oh, and they need to be reminded that since the U.S. tacitly approves of and employs these methods - then these very same tactics will be used against our soldiers.

It feels to me like I have heard Guiliani's defense of his style before - like perhaps in Don Rumsfeld. We don't need more power mongers running the Administrative branch of government - decisive, forceful leadership does not require violations of power.

Waterboard all the Republican candidates at the next debate, then make them give their assesment of the experience LIVE ON TV.

Will the Democrats come forward and pass a law declaring waterboarding torture? Not on your life! They may do some posturing on it so they can have it both ways, but the designated spoilers are already in place.

Burning Witches--why not guys? they have blasphemed the Christian religion, which was clearly intended to be the State religion of America. Just like the founding fathers really wanted a King instead of a President. King Rudy will protect you from another 911! (hey didn't King Rudy give us the first one???!??)

Nexr I would like to see them make statements in favor of lynching and police brutality. Throw a little more red meat to their moronic bestial base

Obviously, he didn't use "intensive questioning" on his pal, Kerik.
