Former Vice President Walter Mondale is endorsing Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton for president, the Clinton campaign announced Sunday.

"America is ready for change, and Hillary Clinton has the strength and experience to deliver it," Mondale said in a statement released by the campaign. "Hillary is uniquely qualified to rebuild America's standing in the world and lead this nation from her first day in the White House."

I have always had quite high admiration for Mondale. Unfortunately his endorsement of Ms. Clinton will not change my mind. Edwards! Kucinich!

Have Hillary release her FIRST LADY papers....then perhaps we can assess her actual experience and decide whether we figure her "experienced" enough or if many are just kinda' figuring Bill would have fingers in the pot and is held nostalgically as capable even when he was NOT totally so....ANY but Bush seems to be THE criteria...and ANY but a GOP who is similar and the Dems are just so hungering for a "win" of some sort no matter if would NOT really be a WIN FOR THE NATION and make little difference in the direction this nation has been hurled due to so many inepts holding the reins of power and empowered to make the continuing bumbles, bungles and blundering decisons that do effect/affect all us ordinaries at a price that NONE OF US SHOULD HAVE TO BEAR !!! "WE" bear the responsibility of allowing such continuation of rape of this nation and its values and its ...well, etc, etc, etc, etc....!! 2-4-1 ?...No, nothanks.

Hillary will let all the Bush criminals off the hook. Believe it. Do you really think she will give up the executive powers Bush has given himself? Do you trust her? I don't.
VOTE FOR ANY OTHER DEMOCRAT. Because they really are Democrats.

Hillary and the DLC backed Lieberman,
Until she felt the heat and wielded out of all out support.
She voted for the War and continued funding of it.
She voted for the Patriot Act. TWICE
She voted a NV for the Credit Card and Banking Bill which Equaled a Yes in a Republican Congress.
She voted for the REAL ID ACT.
She would renew NAFTA.
She is a Corporatist.
She is not a Democrat.
She is part of the problem.

Endorsements are usually either irrelevant or do more harm than good.

I'm waiting to see which Republican gets the all-important Larry Craig endorsement.

Mondale makes democrats think of loss. He is a real nice man, but him picking Hillary is like dooming the democrats to defeat. I don't think Mondale has been that great at picking a winning candidate for the dems.

Mondale is in the latter stages of Alsheimers. You don't want Hillary because-----

Fritz was an intellectual light weight. He couldn't even keep the Wellstone Senate Seat. I think this is actually a damning endorsement, in some ways. I voted for him, but it was with my nose plugged. Still, as simple as he was, he was a little smarter than the Gipper.

I'm holding my breath, and my vote, until Michael Dukakis endorses her. Just kidding: I have no intention of voting for her. Maybe this second go-around with a Mondale endorsement is to draw attention away from the fact that Dianne Feinstein has also endorsed her. Feinstein should become the kiss of death pretty soon. Sad to say, Barbara Boxer is up for reelection in 2008, and she is already being hurt by Feinstein and Pelosi.

An endorsement from Mondale has value?

That should cost her a few votes.

Forty years ago I read the book "They Also Ran: The Story of the Men Who Were Defeated for the Presidency" by Irving Stone. There are many jewels who were not elected in the time preceding as well as subsequently. Since 1966 when the book was written, arguably most of the losers were a better choice than the winner. Clearly Mondale was one of those incredibly well qualified to be president who was not elected.

I have only voted for the winner twice since 1966 and both times it was for Bill Clinton. Perhaps Gore and Kerry also won, but that is a story we know too well.

Is there any loser who was worse than our current president? Perhaps Burr. Clearly to most Americans, George W. is worst of all the winners.
