Look out, John Edwards. That endorsement you got from the State Employees Association, a local SEIU affiliate, might be revisited yet again.

Edwards was caught in a crossfire last week between SEA leaders and dissidents who argued that Barack Obama was the executive board's real choice.

It will take some slick parliamentary maneuvering for SEA President Gary Smith to block a discussion of this mess when the union's convention resumes Nov. 17.

The short version of all this is that the union's executive board voted Oct 23 to endorse Obama, 7-5. The Associated Press reported last week that the union actually called Obama to tell him the news.

The enemy is Wall Street; the politicians on both sides of the aisle are it's water carriers. The one and a half party system works well for the money changers. Where's Jesus? We need him more now than then.

During the New York City mayoralty race, the first person the teacher's union endorsed, Hevesi, was found to be corrupt (and he was in charge of the state's money!), the next person they endorsed lost in a run off election, the next person they endorsed, the Democratic candidate, lost to Bloomberg. My point is that endorsements mean less than one thinks. The union heads decide or skew things the way they want endorsements to go. BTW the teacher's union is supporting Clinton this time around. Might be the kiss of death.

Why does it really matter anyway nowdays? The unions are too weak, the neo-cons saw to that, and today's Dem voter was asleep at the switch when fascism swept the country. But hey, we save a dime on chinese goods at Wal-Mart, way to support the unions Dems....and the man-on-the-street-Democrat doesn't even know why unions were started in the first place, they just want to back a winner like Hillary, and that's where their knowledge of the issues end.

"Pull my finger, come on, pull it," says Edwards.

I am an Obama supporter who feels the union needs to leave this endorsement alone. Yes, it would be nice for Obama to be endorsed by them....before it went to Edwards. To have it yanked away like that is hollow for Obama and unfair to Edwards.
I want those who support Edwards to know, I am with you on this. It is not right.

I agree, the unions, like the dems need to stop shooting themselves in the foot!

I am shocked that an executive board gets to choose who to represent rather than give the full union membership a vote.

One voice, one vote!

The picture looks as if Edwards is accusing Obama of stealing his support. Just trying to be funny!

The ONLY way to save America from the cancer of BCBCB
corporate fascism is the populist ticket of Edwards/Obama.

The article does not say they are reversing the endorsement. It just says that the union will discuss the endorsement. Huffington likes to make up lies. You should retract your caption, and tell the truth.

There you go again, Huffington Post. Unless it's something from the bottom of the trivia barrel, you don't publish about John Edwards. How many are in that NH SEIU union? What about the three million union members across the U.S. in the United Mine Workers, Steel Workers, Carpenters & Joiners, and the other SEIU's (Iowa, California, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Minnesota, Michiqan, West Virginia, Ohio and Oregon) that have endorsed John Edwards? You can't seem to find any space to publish that.

Maybe an SEIU endorsment has more value than a UAW or other old line AFL/CIO unions blessing. The SEIU is adding members.

It's a waste of time to quibble with The Huffington Post inner circle Obama cheerleading team. The real question at hand, is their cheerleading 'really' working all that well ???

Personally, I think the SEIU will be better served by Senator Edwards, but that is just 'my opinion.'

Irrespective of all of this, I am STILL voting for John Edwards for I think & feel that he is the best chance for Democrats to regain The White House.

Suffice it to express that, "may the best candidate win the support of the SEIU union."

Edwards/Obama '08!
