Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold said Saturday that he will vote against attorney general nominee Michael Mukasey, saying he was troubled by Mukasey's views on the power of the presidency.

Mukasey appears likely to be confirmed by the Senate Judiciary Committee, having gained the support of at least two Democrats on the panel, Charles Schumer of New York and Dianne Feinstein of California. The panel will take up the nomination Tuesday.

Someone must have loaned him a set of balls.

They already did the math, they know he's going to be confirmed, so some Democrats can oppose him safely.

Total red herring.

Know what?

Feingold cannot fight them all by himself.

Who else is standing along with him without taint?

I fear we are witnessing the final days of a republic.

Welcome to the new days in the abyss.

The Dems are caving again. Bush does not deserve to have this nominee confirmed.
Not only is he hedging his answer on waterboarding, he also hedged on whether or not the president is above the law. He has two strikes against him IMO.

We'd be better off w/o an AG. Is three AG's in seven years the norm? Two of the AGs left because of this criminal administration. The first because he was in conflict with Bush/Cheney, Inc., and the second because he was complicit with their crimes.

Given Mukasey's overall position, do you approve of his nomination as Attorney General? http://www.youpolls.com/details.asp?pid=872

Big deal. Mukasey is already in.

Fascists rule because you kept "electing" them by being "polite", not complaining about their arrogance, greed, murderous power grabs.

Enjoy!

Thanks Russ. We'll be voting for you again here in cheese land. Wish you could take Reid's spot. What a bunch of spineless worms the Democrats have turned out to be. Waaa!! We're taking impeachment off the table. Waaa!! Waaa!! Waaaaa... It will be too hard. Waaa! Just be careful Russell that they don't Wellstone yer ass. If this administration can support torture and fixing elections, they can pull just about anything.

Send them an email right now and tell them how you feel. You dont even have to know who your congressperson is. It does it for you! So simple even a republican could do it!

Just curious, I understand Schumer being stuck in a pickle because if I understand right, he was one of the people who suggested him for the AG position. Backing out would really be hard for him to live with politically. And we know politicians are not ones for doing what is right for the country over what is right for themselves, but I dont get Feinstein's interest in Mukasey. Who is she beholding to? Or is she just on crack?
