She would have finished sooner if she hadn't taken that break at mile 22 for me to give her a certain protien injection.

I ran the NY Marathon (just got back home last night). My time didn't set any records, but I was probably showering when Katie crossed the finish line. Still, this isn't Boston or a competitive race, the NYC Marathon is very accessible to everyone (Kenyans and first timers alike), and I hope it stays that way.

If you can run one marathon - do this one. It has an amazing amount of spectators, you are cheered from the end of the Verrazano-Narrows bridge right thru all 5 boroughs, into Central Park. Truly an amazing run from beginning to end (just be ready for crowds).

So. Or is that "So?"?

Not to demean the fact that she finished (anyone who can travel 26 miles on foot walking or running for 5 1/2 hours is doing pretty darn well) but her time is equal, on average, to about 3 minutes and ten seconds around the quarter mile oval 104 times. That is really just about a hop and a skip faster than walking, at not quite 4 3/4 miles/hour. To win she would have to run much more than twice as fast.

She looks great. I would hold a glass of water for her any day. She can run without the sports bra too. Lookin' good.

She looks nasty.

Um, Katie, dear. A sports bra is part of the gear for a reason.

The Roman Empire fell & your boobs will, too, without proper support.

You go Katie, I am so darn impressed!
I can barely jog 2 miles without huffing and puffing. A marathon is indeed some accomplishment.

Wow... lost all the baby weight (so tough to do when you don't have a job, have a personal trainer and can have your meals catered for you every day - so, so tough!)...I suppose this means she's ready for another baby?

How old is she? Like 21?

Because she does not yet know the importance of a "jogging" bra.

It's ok Katie... there's always plastic surgery when you turn 25.

She looks awful ill, positively anorexic.

Actually the picture should have been of the winner , a woman who gave birth 8 months ago and finished in 2 hours and some minutes

Good for her, I couldn't run it on my best day. I can't imagine why she didn't wear some support though, that's gotta be uncomfortable.

some of these comments are mean spirited and all of them, including mine, are unnecessary. :)
