One year out from the 2008 election, Americans are deeply pessimistic and eager for a change in direction from the agenda and priorities of President Bush, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Concern about the economy, the war in Iraq and growing dissatisfaction with the political environment in Washington all contribute to the lowest public assessment of the direction of the country in more than a decade. Just 24 percent think the nation is on the right track, and three-quarters said they want the next president to chart a course that is different than that pursued by Bush.

I just learned that there's an MSNBC poll right now on the topic of whether or not people think Bush should be impeached. When I voted just now, 89% of almost 600,000 people had voted YES. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10562904

BUSH IN COMMAND – GOD HELP US!

WE GET THE GOVERNMENT WE DESERVE and, boy, we have really been getting it for the last 6 years! Truth, values, competence and results no longer matter in America.

THE PROBLEM: this President is not a rational thinker. His mind accepts information from only two sources: faith and experience. Because Bush is not rational (strictly empirical and subjective), objective facts and evidence such as the recent National Intelligence Estimates (NIEs) that found the Iraq war has created more jihadists and terrorists and made America less safe are meaningless to this anachronistic man of several millennia ago. The reality of Iraq is what he thinks it is from the beautiful White House, and so our country and our precious soldiers are in for much more of this endless strategic disaster.

GOOD NEWS though... God is speaking directly to George Bush (again) and telling him to go to war with Iran. This new war should go as well as the Iraq war (his last guidance from a higher authority, another Father than Bush41) and further help over one billion Muslims in their decision to fight America in a mutual holy war. The Crusades of long ago are living history in the Middle East, and Muslims are already primed for another war with Christian invaders. Our bring-it-on cowboy President is only rekindling and fueling this centuries-old fire.

Of course, TALKING WITH ADVERSARIES (INSTEAD OF WAR) REQUIRES RATIONAL THOUGHT; thus with Bush, American diplomacy is an oxymoron. It will never happen! If past is prelude, Bush diplomacy with Iran will be perfunctory and rigged; our mentally unbalanced, messianic President needs to provoke a war, AND HE WILL FIND A WAY!

WITHOUT RATIONAL THINKING, bumping into reality is always a shock! FUTURE SHOCK: roiled Pakistan is just one assassin bullet away from going under. When the President finally increases the level of hatred against the United States to where it engulfs Pakistan, then we face nuclear terror, and Biblical Armageddon becomes real and a self-fulfilling prophecy. Oh, the joy, the Rapture!

The fall of Rome is ours and is coming fast!
Politicans fiddle while our country burns!
If the states can move up their primaries, why can't we move up the presidential election and boot every last one of'em out of office sooner than later???? This country is an absolute mess bought on by both republicans and democracts!

Let's not forget the role of the DEMOCRATICS in the nation's pessimism.

I know someone who is a nurse practitioner, has been for many years. She sees many people every day. She says people get in the office and just open up. She has told me how much more hopeless people seem in recent years, how it affects their health and outlook and mental state, and it is because of what Bush has done to our country.

The sum total of the stress and sadness and hopelessness and grief that Bush has created in individuals is incalculable.

New Poll? F*#% Polls. I don't need a poll to tell me that. Eager for change? Really? Now who would have known? Aren't polls wonderful? Not!

There is nothing, nothing at all we can do about Bush except talk about it. We will have to wait for him to step down. The next one in place, make sure you vote for one with a good conscience.

One of the most optimistic predctions I've read lately has been this:
The Senators who will have to decide if Mukasey should be Attorney General have made him promise he will appoint a Special Prosecutor to investigate Bush/Cheney's crimes. Let's hope it's true.

Okay, I'll try again.
Eager for change is putting it very politely.
Eager for a fair trial followed upon conviction by a public hanging is more like it.

My question is to those who support the President for the Iraqi war. There have been so many reasons why they President said we went to war, is it possible for you to tell me why we are there at all without providing changing or conflicting the President has already made and provided as justification?

Also can you please tell me why Bin Laden has not been found. If I has 135,000 men, not including private contractors, I would have his head in my lap right now. Fighting insurgencies is not rocket science if you know what you're doing. Clinton did it in Bosnia.

We've done it in South America successfully.
