Specter and Schumer are promoting a false notion that a new law is needed for waterboarding. This is a lie. Waterboarding has already been successfully prosecuted by U.S. attorneys.

So who is actually going to do something about these Rebulican-lite and/or cowardly Democrats other than complain on blogs?

Who here will run or organize a campaign to replace their cowardly or DLC Democratic Party incumbent in Congress with another Democrat who will stand up the neo-cons and doesn't take corrupting corporate campaign contributions as a matter of principle?

Or, who here will join the Greens or another party to create a true progressive party?

Who will help gather signatures to put electoral and campaign finance reforms on the ballot that will open up our system to other parties and to people not co-opted by corporations.

Or will people here merely complain now and then try to shame those of us next year who are trying to create an alternative because we won't vote for the Democrat as the lesser of two evils?

Put aside the Presidential contest. I have no doubts that most of the people here complaining about will end up holding their nose and vote for Hillary because of the Supreme Court.

What has this Congress done to engender any loyalty from you? They haven't even attempted to end the war, let alone stand up the Liar-in-Chief and his neoconservative puppeteers. They hide behind the untrue excuse of not have 60 votes or 67 votes and then expect you to shut up and go away and then come back in 2008 and vote for them again because they are not as bad as the Republicans.

I can't believe Schumer who used to be so outspoken on civil liberties issues has suddenly gone so quiet. It almost seems as if he's lost the will to do what he was so good at doing: keeping a check on The White House. It's a shame.
