A majority of Americans consider waterboarding a form of torture, but some of those say it's OK for the U.S. government to use the technique, according to a poll released Tuesday.

Asked whether they think waterboarding is a form of torture, more than two-thirds of respondents, or 69 percent, said yes; 29 percent said no.

The salient question is whether the public SUPPORTS government torture. The results would be frightening.

Torture, no. Does it matter of course not. If there is a situation where the lives of thousands of US citizens lives are at stack and there are prisoners who it is reasonably well thought have information. Then there is no problem with torture as the last method to try in making every attempt to save lives. Waterboarding, torture? Please let me get you a bucket of water.

Of course waterboarding is torture . . . there was no need to conduct a poll to discover it was . . . . even the chimp and muskasey know it's torture ... but the chimp/cheney regime are above the law and the Geneva Convention . . . so they will continue doing it unless they are impeached . .. time to back HR333 Congress

It is amazing that rational clear headed people can see clearly what no one in the administration can as well as the potential new gonzo.

OTHER FORMS OF TORTURE:

(1) Watching the Fox News "Half-Hour Comedy Hour"
(2) Kevin Federline's "Popozao"
(3) Watching Dick Cheney try to smile.
(4) Counting the angry veins in Ann Coulter's neck.
(5) Listening to Oprah talk about shoes.
(6) Looking at Michelle Malkin's picture.
(7) Reading HuffPo blogger "Doug"'s comments.
(8) Hearing another Obama bitchscratch at Hillary. Meow.
(9) Watching Rush Limbaugh suck on a cigar w/o choking.
(10) Having to watch Condoleezza take off her $1K shoes. Yuck.

Yes, pretty much like we believe the Earth is round, the sky is blue, money is green, etc. We believe it because it's true.

And for the 29% who don't, good luck getting through the rest of the day.

Wow. According to this poll, 11% think waterboarding is torture, but that it should be used anyway. What the hell is wrong with this country?

"Asked whether they think waterboarding is a form of torture, more than two-thirds of respondents, or 69 percent, said yes; 29 percent said no."

Translation:

"69 percent say waterboarding is torture; 29 percent say that pouring acid on a person's face and sending several hundred volts through his body isn't torture if George W. Bush says it isn't."

Actually we don't need a poll. U.S. prosecutors have won convictions against torturers, and waterboarders.

SERE School used waterboarding
as part of my training in the 60's.

Trust me. It's torture.
No debate changes that.

Those who support waterboarding do not have children, husbands, family, friends serving in the military. Only persons far removed from real military situs would ever support torture in any form. Shame on them. What happened to America's moral compass?

Now what kind of rocket scientist are leading this country that think otherwise ?

Schumer & Feinstein are toast - next election.

Maybe those 29% would like to try it out - just for fun.

Duh! This is like conducting a poll and finding that a majority think that the sky is blue. SHEEEESH!
