I am beginning to see Huffpo for what it is, another outlet for infotainment and covering politicians from the angle of celebrities instead of the substance of their policies.

Why is there no commentary on the house vote to investigate Vice President Cheney towards articles of IMPEACHMENT?

Instead of ridiculing Thompson, he should be commended. To thyself, be true.

This guy is nothing but a thief. A first class Beltway-bandit if ever there was one. He is scamming just like Pat Buchanan. All that gravy and money pouring into his pocket via the Federal Matching Fund.

He is a crook. Period.

Ok, let's do the damage report.

* Jebbie on vacation and now it's too late.
* Newtie wants a contract before he stands for the presidency.
* Tancredo hates the 13%, 12% and 9% of the population (hispanic, black and asian, naturally)
* Macaca went and opened his mouth and we know the rest.
* Frist made a bad diagnosis by VHS-scan.
* McBush is just so much dead meat.
* Brownback ate turtle soup and withdrew.
* Grampah Fred getting tahr'd ov th' whole dang thing.
* Ron Paul is effectively the Libertarian Party within the Walls of the Neo-GOP, so he is effectively a non-event.
* Gomer is effectively the ACH (American Christian Homeland) party candidate, so there will be a third party.
* Duncan Hunter is mad as a march hare.

That leaves the loyal 25% a choice between a TV drag queen and a mormon in christianist drag. Not a good choice, GOPers, losers.

Well, I finally agree with Fred on something.

Thompson has been a real non-event for the Republicans.

The way he looks he may not be alive by then. He has cancer and looks very, very tired. Even his make up will not help a corpse look like a President. Besides, it's hard work as bush will tell him. Time to go back to Bollywood Fred and have another glass of wine and some cheese.

I've always thought that Thompson presented himself as someone who was just interested in easy stuff, like actin'. Admit it, his roles have hardly meant he's had to stretch at all and it's why he's more like animated furniture on set rather than what a really good actor does. So I suppose workin' as a lobbyist was easy too since all he had to do was bullshit the willing and the wanting.
So running for president I always thought was just a way for him to get some cred on having a ghost writer create his "memoires".
