This morning on "Today" Shirley MacLaine opened up about seeing a UFO "buzzing around the Capitol and the White House" when she was 18-years-old. She also discussed the impact of Dennis Kucinich publicly acknowledging a UFO sighting of his own. Unsurprisingly, she loved it. She seemed to be pretty calm and rational about the whole thing, unlike what most people think of UFO believers.

From NBC 11/7/07.

What do you think? Have you ever had a UFO sighting?

Our one-party (that is the CORPORATIST party) mainstream media is now censoring populist/progressive politicians.

From the youtube page -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2DGfXA8DlE&v3

On Aug. 19, a debate for the Democratic contenders for 2008 was hosted in Iowa by ABC news. At the same time, ABC put up a prominent poll on their website, asking the question, "Who is winning the debate?" When candidate Dennis Kucinich took the lead by a very large margin, ABC took down the poll, and then replaced it with another poll: "Who won the debate?"

After Dennis took the lead, again winning handily, ABC dropped the second survey from prominence on its website. Users posting comments in ABC's Politics page reported having their comments deleted, and demanded explanation of ABC's actions. ABC news has still neither posted an explanation nor officially reported the results of its survey.

In ABC's official story of the debates, however, Kucinich gets a whole spot all to himself: the last three paragraphs of the entire piece. Nowhere else is he mentioned.

On the "Politics Page" of ABC's website, the photo of all the candidates was missing Dennis Kucinich. He had been deliberately cropped out of the picture. The original, from an AP photographer, had all the candidates in it.

During the program, Dennis was not asked a question by host George Stephanopoulos until a third of the way through the debate. In the entire debate, Kucinich only accounted for 8.5% of the response times. However, in the crucial first half - crucial because the majority of viewers only watch the first half - he was only allowed 3.4% of the time - the least of all the candidates.

I personally love Shirley. It took a while for me to catch on that she is Warren Beatty's sister. So Shirley, I wish one of the UFO's would come my way. You and Peter Sellers were tops in "Being There." Love you.

Ever notice these outer space critters just sniff around a bit and then take off.

Like a dog looking to take a dump.

They don't stay long enough to do a Motel 6.

They just want a good laugh.

The human race is good for something.

Kucinich said he saw an unidentified flying object. He does not take guidance from it nor does he converse with it. He does, however, have great ideas about the most important issue we face as a nation today, foreign policy, and specifically, middle eastern foreign relations. He will, if allowed, put a positive end to the war on terror, get us out of Iraq, Force Israel to come to terms with the Palestinians (thereby putting an end to the greatest catlyst of M.E Terror) and therefore leave the nation with enough left over money to fund health care, better education, and Alternative energy sources for decades to come.

Bush regularly speaks to and takes guidance from a disembodied spirit, who apparently guided him towards, and feeds him with positive feelings about, the disasterous course he and his fellow Neocons have set this nation upon. It reassures him that he is still on the right path, even though reality has very clearly and brutally suggested otherwise. It (the disembodied spirit that guides him) seems neutral or maybe even positive about also attacking Iran, while doing nothing to change our M.E. policies or help the people of this nation (ie Katrina, education, alternative energy, ect)

Hillary, although down playing any relationship with the disembodied spirit, does agree (at least in her all of her ACTIONS) with just about everything that Bush does, and is therefore also ultimately guided by the same disembodied spirit (well, and also the big 7 insurance companies, who she gets a lot of money from and whom she intends to FORCE every single american to sign up with, with the intent of then asking them please start treating us fairly).

I choose the UFO guy.

I don't know who is running this site now, but it is turning into a tabloid. I don't enjoy it nearly as much as I used to as there are way too many articles about pop culture and celebrities.

With friends like Huffpo who needs Republicans.

These cheap hacks at Olbermann and Kucinich today smack of someones personal agendas. This place is becoming just like the Democratic Party, petty and not worth taking seriously.

Its the reality of the republican way. Thompson has a drug dealer, Rudy has a criminal, and Bush has, well , the corporate equivalent of the SS and the mafia having spoiled children together.

Demrats have many of the same, except for one, who his main fault is he saw an unidentified flying object.... Ohhh Ahhh. what a scary person.

This is nothing but a sham by Huffpo. I am very disappointed...there are better sites to get real reporting and not neo con lite...

You know people believe in all sorts of things. So what? Shirley says she saw UFOs in Peru. So? Maybe she did. Does that make her a wacko? Who cares? How about the millions of Roman Catholics who believe the Blessed Virgin didn't die but ascended into heaven. Are they wackos too? That sounds a lot further fetched to me!

I will tell you what is not wacko is a man who wishes to stop the war, and give gays the right to marry. I am pushing sixty, paid a fortune in taxes, have a purple heart hanging on an American flag I painted and I am asking for special rights to get married. I say WTF! Screw the religious fanatics who think I don't have any rights. Screw the Republicans who think that we are moving this country forward in the world by taking rights from individuals, keeping them in prisons, and torturing them. That's wacko! That's dangerous and doing more harm than good. Starting wars for oil in the name of a thousand lies, that's wacko.

Give me a wacko if it means money will be spent on creating peace in the world, on education, health care, insuring the elderly will not be on the streets, and programs for our youth, and food for the hungry, protection of our civil rights and liberties. Give me a man who cares about the constitution.

I've never seen a HuffPo thread so filled with disappointment in HuffPo, and I've been lurking on here (not often posting) almost since day #1 of HuffPo.

That should tell us something about how much underground support there is for Kucinich. Underground because the MSM pretends it is not there.

Kucinich has a chance. I know it now.

This is about Shirley MacLaine, not Kucinich. THe article should be in the entertainment section, not on the mainpage.

And yes, it's obvious that when it comes to the issue of impeachment, HuffPo Editors want to protect the Democrats from the inevitable onslaught of extreme-left hatred of their own, a hatred that characterizes most leftwing blogs.

Informed people understand that while Kucinich is doing the right thing on the one hand, the impossibility of a good outcome in any way, shape or form means that supporting his resolution would hurt the Democrats in the long run. It's a no-win for Democrats. Sinlence is the thing.

I've seen UFO's twice. BFD, a lot of people have.
I think Kucinich has something that threatens mainstream voters more than his admission that he's seen UFO's. He has balls.
People are so used to hearing sanitized horseshit from politicians, when one comes along who keeps it real, he's branded as a lunatic.
I think a lot of people are too chickenshit to take a stand on Kucinich and admit they agree with him on many important issues because they want to play it safe and back the front runners.
I'd like to see him be our next president- but I'll settle for Hillary or Obama if I have to.
But then I'd vote for a cocker spaniel over a republican any day.

tell Kucinich to bring up impeachment articles on the floor again and again, which he can do because impeachment is a privileged resolution.

impeachment today, tomorrow, and every day!
