Iraq Signs

Opposition to the war in Iraq has reached an all-time high, according to the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll released Thursday morning.

Support for the war in Iraq has dropped to 31 percent and the 68 percent who oppose the war is a new record.

Despite the drop in violence in Iraq, only one quarter of Americans believes the U.S. is winning the war. There has been virtually no change in the past month in the number of Americans who believe that things are going badly for the U.S. in the war in Iraq.

The public also opposes U.S. military action against Iran. Sixty-three percent oppose air strikes on Iran, while 73 percent oppose using ground troops as well as air strikes in that country.

Overall, 56 percent, of Americans are dissatisfied with progress in the war on terrorism.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation telephone poll of 1,024 American adults was carried out over the weekend. The sampling error for the full sample was plus-or-minus 3 percentage points; some questions were asked of a half sample of approximately 500 respondents and carry a sampling error of plus-or-minus 4.5 percentage point.

CNN was just saying the anti-war movement was loosing steam and the elections will be about the economy. The way it's going, they are probably correct.

Bernanke is on CNBC right now, talking about housing, energy and wealth. He's all about investors and growth instead of the health of the middle class.

The strength of America is in the middle class and the rich have been ripping US off for decades. In a year, the real war will be one of class and people will not be fooled by the elite's lies any longer.

Also, along the same lines, some disturbing news:

Did State Kill The Iran Democracy Project?

A decision by the State Department to transfer funds for Iranian democracy activists to its Iranian Affairs office spells the end of the American effort to support democratic change in the Islamic Republic, its former director said. Scott Carpenter, in an interview with Eli Lake of the New York Sun, says that the end of independent operation of this project signals that the money will no longer support efforts to get past Internet censors and other means of information reporting that is critical to the success of democratic movements:

AQI Just A Baghdad Memory
The New York Times reports that US forces have "routed" al-Qaeda in Iraq from the Baghdad region. General David Petraeus' new strategies have pushed them out of "every neighborhood", and that only an eighth of the city remains to purge the other militias from control. The new, aggressive tactics of the Americans and the rise of the Iraqi Army have solidified the victory over the terrorists

The most excellent SF photoblogger "Zombie" has a vast assortment of protest pictures at his site. His most recent addition is from the SF anti-war rally on Oct 27.

Enjoy it here:

** Due to the nature of the American Left, some of his galleries are "Not Safe For Work." In most cases he has marked these with warnings.

With the purposeful silence eminating from the MSM about ground operations in IRAQ, except to report another grim milestone, this is no surprise. HuffPo Whiners buy into this propaganda hook, line, and sinker. They chose to believe this rhetoric due to their extreme BDS and narrow-minded views. Michael Yon has excellent posts as does Michael Totten, both imbedded with combat troops in IRAQ. Open-minded people will read all information before making up their minds. Obviously, not true of typical HuffPo Whiners.

" only one quarter of Americans believes the U.S. is winning the war. "

1/4 of Americans are fascists, or certifiably stupid, scary numbers.
