Iraq Signs

Opposition to the war in Iraq has reached an all-time high, according to the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll released Thursday morning.

Support for the war in Iraq has dropped to 31 percent and the 68 percent who oppose the war is a new record.

Despite the drop in violence in Iraq, only one quarter of Americans believes the U.S. is winning the war. There has been virtually no change in the past month in the number of Americans who believe that things are going badly for the U.S. in the war in Iraq.

The public also opposes U.S. military action against Iran. Sixty-three percent oppose air strikes on Iran, while 73 percent oppose using ground troops as well as air strikes in that country.

Overall, 56 percent, of Americans are dissatisfied with progress in the war on terrorism.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation telephone poll of 1,024 American adults was carried out over the weekend. The sampling error for the full sample was plus-or-minus 3 percentage points; some questions were asked of a half sample of approximately 500 respondents and carry a sampling error of plus-or-minus 4.5 percentage point.

"Does it matter?"

"STOP THE WAR! AREN'T YOU LISTENING? STOP..."

"Oh, I guess not. Let's see here. It says here that we're 'contributing' $160,000 a day to your 'campaign fund?'"

"stopthewar stopthewar arent you listmtnnth stop"

"Something like that..."

"Well, what's say we up that 'contribution' to $240,000 a day...?"

"Ahh, that's better. Thank you."

"No problem, Senator. Happy to be of service."

[ The names are not mentioned, but the dollar-amounts are true, and typical. Profits earned by gratuitous board-positions, major stock holdings, etc. not included. ]

Come to think of it, had Saddam been democratic enough to hand over Iraq's oil to our corporations, we wouldn't need to bring freedom to the Iraqis.

And there would be no "warrenterra".

It is all Saddam's fault.

We're not at war. We are occupying a country and being harrassed by all factions therein. That's not a war. We defeated Saddam and the Baathists years ago. What is winning? Creating enough stability for the majority Shiia to create a theocracy aligned with Iran? I'm all for destrying Al Queda and "Al Qaeda In Iraq" (which, please remember, is not Al Queada proper but a unique copycat organization.) but I believe what BushCo is doing is your standard war of aggression for control of resources. The chaos creates unimaginable profits and you pay for it.

We don't torture.

We are for human rights.

We hold Christian values.

We don't start wars.

We are free.

We are better than those we choose to call enemies of our dogma.

My question

Since when?

What I want to know is, who are the 27% of Americans who think we should use ground troops in Iran.

That segment of America is so stupid they should never be asked their opinion about anything.

Ground troops in Iran? Give me a friggin break.

Hey wow.

There are 56% that believe that the War on Terror is going badly.

That means 56% actually believe there is a War on Terror.

The is no war, what we have is a conflict of idea, you cant fight such a conflict with weapons and soldiers.

You need ideas to fight dogma.

The intellectual and ideological weapons of the west are bankrupted by the use of force and the strip mining of wealth by our elite.

You can whip people with nothing to lose, but eventually the whip will have no meaning and hold no fear.

It is time for a purge of Congressional Leadership in Both houses and in Both parties. Vote against incumbents in 2008; press your representative and senators to vote in NEW blood for all leadership positions in the next Congress; email current Congressional leaders to step aside in the next Congress and let new blood assume the reins.

Details of contract fraud and bribes arise in Iraq.

"Investigation could lead to General David Petraeus. Col. Ted Westhusing was investigating this fraud in Iraq when he was said to have committed "suicide." His superior officer at the time was Petraeus. The "Surge" may be a bunch of senior Army officers being locked up at the Fort Leavenworth Disciplinary Barracks."

From CAPITALISM to unchecked capitalism to Wall Street greed is good to soulless corporations to war for profits to savage capitalism to imperialism to laws that limit human rights to the devaluation of the dollar to the establishment of an independent mercenary army to the collapse of the economy to a dictator to FASCISM.

And Americans thought capitalism was the best economic system in the world. Think again Americans. Still think the demos can bail you out? The die has been cast even the demos promote capitalism in their speeches and on such places as Air America.

No turning back, fascism must come. Economic structure and systems do influence human behaviour. What we sow we reap it is now harvest time in America.
