Mukasey Confirmed As Attorney General

The Senate confirmed retired judge Michael Mukasey as attorney general Thursday night to replace Alberto Gonzales, who was forced from office in a scandal over his handling of the Justice Department.

Mukasey was confirmed as the nation's 81st attorney general after a sharp debate over his refusal to say whether the waterboarding interrogation technique is torture.

And now its going to be difficult for the Dems to use that against Rudy if he is the nominee, because they just shot themselves in the foot.

Fewer Americans know that Revolutionary War leaders, including Washington and the Continental Congress, considered the decent treatment of enemy combatants to be one of the principal strategic preoccupations of the American Revolution.

In an order covering prisoners taken in the Battle of Princeton, Washington wrote: "Treat them with humanity, and let them have no reason to Complain of our Copying the brutal example of the British Army in their treatment of our unfortunate brethren…. Provide everything necessary for them on the road."

Mukasey has not stated that he is for torture.

Yet there are all of these "people" on here who are claiming that he did and what a evil person he is.

Good news as a Californian, Barbara Boxer voted "Nay" which (with Feinstein advocating and voting the way she has) means this great blue liberal monster of a state was, essentially, neutral. Still heartfelt thanks to Boxer who showed up and voted!

But can anyone tell me WHY, WHY, WHY Biden, Clinton, Dodd and Obama just failed to even show up?! The hell with taking a principled stand, they're not taking a stand AT ALL!
