US President George W. Bush had a shoot-out with the "bad guys" in Iraq on Thursday, playing a computer game with war veterans that simulates a firefight in Baghdad, the White House said.
Bush tried his hand at the game with two soldiers during a visit to a rehabilitation center in Texas that treats veterans wounded in Iraq.

One of the more, how can I put this, worthless a**holes at my work place came up to me today and proudly told me that "his President" and I now have something in common. What could that be, I asked. His response: "Both of you now know what combat is like."
My response? I thanked him for recognizing my Purple Heart service as a United States Marine for 4 years with almost 3 years in Vietnam as an Infantry Radio Operator in the 1st Marine Division.
His reaction? A look of utter hatred. If looks could kill, I would not be typing this right now, the coroner would be seeing to my lifeless body.
Oh well, it is Veteran's Day this weekend, after all. Guess I will go out and play a video game or two. Never know, I might end up back in the psycho ward at Wake Med again...
I must confess that the image of Bush playing soldier via a video game, with REAL soldiers present, makes me truly, physically nauseas.

I am a bit surprised that when Bush saw "combat action" - he didn't run for a National Guard office to sign up and promise to defend Texas airspace.

The Republicans are whining about Pelosi and her $50B war funding offer coupled with bringing home some troops. That is, wind this scam war down.
Their argument is -- we're winning, violence is down, things are much better and now the Dems want to cut off funding and bring home the troops.
What? If violence is down, and things are going better, then why to fuck can't some of the troops come home. And why not spend less?
Things going well, the troops need to stay. Things going bad, the troops need to stay.

Perhaps Bush should have given the wounded soldiers something they might actually enjoy more than a visit from the idiot in chief.
