Tom's Co-Stars Meryl Streep And Robert Redford Skip Tribute Dinner

No, Robert Redford and Meryl Streep did not attend Tom Cruise's big dinner honoring him the other night by the American Museum of the Moving Image.

When I noted that the Lions for Lambs stars were absent, an insider very close to the scene told me. "Meryl and Bob can't stand Tom. In London, Tom kept trying to push himself into interviews. Bob said, No. Tom wouldn't listen. Meryl has done almost nothing for the movie. She wants nothing to do with him."

On the other hand, a supporter of the film said, "That's mean. They're great friends. Just look at their interview on Good Morning America."

I cannot stand Tom Cruise... I never liked him... in ANY movie.

Very arrogant and very insecure at the same time...plus, that whole Scientology thing. It's a MADE UP religion... a bet between two guys who wanted to see if they could START A RELIGION. Look at all the sheep following... to this day.

I worked as a paralegal in FL, prosecuting the church of Sci for the death of a woman they literally kidnapped... they isolated her from her family, then locked her up in a room after she signed over all her money to them. It is common practice for them to seek out loners with big trust funds, alienate them from friends and family, brainwash them, and then take ALL of their money.

This woman died in that room.... slowly and painfully...from dehydration and bug infestation. When they found her, there were bugs in her scabs and wounds and body cavities. It was horrific to read about....knowing how much she suffered.

Thnks to people like Tom, they have ENDLESS funds to defend themselves...I mean MILLIONS for shark lawyers. Unfortunately, I left the firm before the final verdict was decided.

Now THERE'S a great religion to follow....line up everybody! I have always wanted to ask Tom Cruise how he felt about the incident.... and how his funding helps defend this scumb.

Really too bad. I used to be a Cruise fan back in the day--when I literally knew nothing about his lunacy! Now, I just can't stand him. He was a pig to Brooke Shields, even if she did forgive him--I will never forget what an ass he was to her and to all women. Redford is smart to keep his distance.

Redford's smart because he knows how to selectively use his power to get things done. Since he's the more experienced actor/director/global mega superstar, shouldn't Cruise show a little respect?

His movie box office has steadily declined and hiring robo-bride to bear his children won't help. The guy is controlling and has a really weird energy about him. If it wasn't for his earlier success, I doubt he would have been able to survive the couch incident and the Redstone disagreement.

Didn't Redford have some Production control over this project? Why on earth would Streep and Redford attach themselves to anything with Tom Cruise? He is a career killer!
