AP:

Six U.S. troops were killed when insurgents ambushed their foot patrol in the high mountains of eastern Afghanistan, officials said Saturday. The attack, the most lethal against American forces this year, made 2007 the deadliest for U.S. troops in Afghanistan since the 2001 invasion.

The troops were returning from a meeting with village elders late Friday afternoon in Nuristan province when militants attacked them with rocket propelled grenades and gunfire, Lt. Col. David Accetta told The Associated Press.

When vogie uses 'non sequitur' he is really thinking of a Star Trek episode, I bet he has the pointy ears on when he posts.

Drunken slut can't help but lie.

Surprised she didn't hop in her "jet" for a weekend away on her "yacht."

For all of those in need of "THE PLAN" here is what I believe will work best and best expresses the rational of most who post here:

"Go placidly amid the noise and waste,
and remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.
Avoid quiet and passive persons, unless you are in need of sleep.
Rotate your tires.
Speak glowingly of those greater than yourself
and heed well their advice, even though they be turkeys.
Know what to kiss... and when.
Consider that two wrongs never make a right... but that three do.
Wherever possible, put people on hold.
Be comforted that in the face of all erridity and disallusionment,
and despite the changing fortunes of time,
there is always a big future in computer maintainance.

Remember the Pueblo.
Strive at all times to bend, fold, spindle, and mutilate.
Know yourself. If you need help, call the FBI.
Exercise caution in your daily affairs,
especially with those persons closest to you...
that lemon on your left, for instance.
Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls
would scarcely get your feet wet.
Fall not in love, therefore; it will stick to your face.
Gracefully surrender the things of youth,
birds, clean air, tuna, Taiwan,
and let not the sands of time get in your lunch.
Hire people with hooks.
For a good time call 606-4311. Ask for Ken.
Take heart amid the deepening gloom
that your dog is finally getting enough cheese,
and reflect that whatever misfortune may be your lot,
it could only be worse in Milwaukee.

You are a fluke of the Universe.
You have no right to be here,
and weather you can hear it or not,
the Universe is laughing behind your back.

Therefore, make peace with your god,
whatever you conceive him to be:
hairy thunderer or cosmic muffin.
With all its hopes, dreams, promises, and urban renewal,
the world continues to deteriorate.

Give up"

"DETERIORATA"
by Tony Hendra (National Lampoon)

Seriously, try to have a good day.
You are such an empty humorless lot.

Another beauty.

When initially Pakistan sheltered the Taliban during the Russian occupation that was fine.

Why is it now wrong for Pakistan to shelter the Taliban?

Or is it that Pakistan is our ally and it is really OK, but we will just whine about it to show good form.

Question to Vogons:
-------------------

What is the US goal in Afghanistan?

In other words, what would be achieved at the point where we say that the job is done, and our troops can come home?

Reply by VogonsCryptolect:
-------------

Non sequitur, typical avoidance behavior exhibited by those unsure of the validity of their own position, (assuming they have one).

Perhaps you should join a ladies bridge club where you can "pick-a-little-talk-a-little-pick pick pick pick" in like company.

------------------

Hey, Vogons, here, I'm giving you another chance.

Want to try giving a straight answer? Don't reply with more questions, just try answering the question in 50 words or less.

It does require a right wing scum like 'demsrnuts' to disrespect are fallen U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan, the real center of terrorism.

Hey, did you hear the latest from that true American intellectual, Bill Kristol? Guess who ol' Bill thinks should be the Republican VP candidate....wait, wait...YES, Holy Joe Lieberman.

Who says waving the war pom poms and turning a blind eye to soldiers deaths isn't worth it?
