Bush Younger And Wiser

Editor & Publisher :

Sig Christenson, a founding member of Military Reporters and Editors who has worked five assignments in Iraq since the war began, reached back some 10 years for a Veteran's Day piece that noted President George Bush's early opposition to an Iraq invasion.

Christenson, who covers the military for the San Antonio (Tex.) Express-News, penned the piece for Sunday's paper that cited Bush's comments on Veteran's Day 1997 as governor of Texas. He pointed to Bush's defense of his father's decision during the Gulf War not to remove Saddam Hussein.

So I guess 9/11 didn't change everything after all.

For instance, it didn't change the fact that invading Iraq was a rock stupid idea.

A reasonable consistency is not one of George W. Bush's things.

The problem isn't so much Mr. Bush, but the entire Republican movement as a whole, which demanded he invade Iraq. If another Republican was in power, he would have done the same thing, which is why we can't trust another Republican will be different.

The chimp was never, ever wise. He is however the evil spawn of evil parents and the street-lights of Pennsylvania Avenue should be festooned with their hanging corpses and those who have assisted them in their treason against the people of the USA.

I would like to ask Huffpo why three quarters of the comments pages are reproduced on the following page? Is it not enough to show a comment just the once? Instead we have to waste time re-reading line after line of drivel. Just asking.

This news is hardly revelatory. We've already heard prior comments from Cheney and the elder Bush about the folly of ever invading Iraq.

If the news outlets and Congress did their jobs, this would have been covered more in the mainstream press by now.

The bottom line...this has always been about oil and always will be.

Where are the investigations about the disconnect between 9/11 and what really spurred us to invade Iraq? How many Downing Street memos will it take for an investigation to be launched over the fact that this war was planned as soon as BushCo and his oil cronies assumed power?

And there is news on a dead suspect in the murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. Steve Levine writes:

Pearl, my Pakistan reporting colleague after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists attacks, was kidnapped in January 2002. Saud Memon was a key figure for those who wished to solve a mystery: Why did the captors turn his abduction into a slaying?

OT I know, but what the hell is Laura
Bush wearing in that photo? Is she participating as a tuba player in some high school band or what?

How many members of the Bush administration does it take to change a light bulb?

1. One to deny that a light bulb needs to be changed;

2. One to attack the patriotism of anyone who says the light bulb
needs to be changed;

3. One to blame Clinton for burning out the light bulb;

4. One to arrange the invasion of a country rumored to have a secret stockpile of light bulbs;

5. One to give a billion dollar no-bid contract to Halliburton for the
new light bulb;

6. One to arrange a photograph of Bush, dressed as a janitor, standing on a step ladder under the banner: Light Bulb Change Accomplished;

7. One administration insider to resign and write a book documenting
in detail how Bush was literally in the dark;

8. One to viciously smear #7;

9. One surrogate to campaign on TV and at rallies on how George Bush has had a strong light-bulb-changing policy all along;

10. And finally one to confuse Americans about the difference between screwing a light bulb and screwing the country.

The reason Bu$h said what he did ten years ago was because he hadn't been told what he believed.

This FAILED President has no beliefs or even deeply felt ideas... until someone tells him what to believe or feel.

Then Dick Cheney (aka Darth Vader) showed up, chose himself to be V.P. and proceeded to tell Bu$h what he (Bu$h) believes and what he (Darth Vader) was going to do.

And now we have the WORST PRESIDENT EVER, a man hated and distrusted by most of the world, a sinking economy, a brankrupt nation and thousands and thousands of Americans and Iraqis DEAD.

Thanks, Georgie, you're doin' a heckuva job.

"Well, I'm confident that losing men and women as a result of sniper fire inside of Baghdad would have turned the tide of public opinion very quickly,"

Well, President Bush was wrong on that one, because the latest survey says 97% of Patriotic Americans want us to complete the mission of this noble cause and stay the course until victory is had regardless of how many corners we have to turn.

The Prez looks a little stoned, or drunk off his keester in the photo. His little old drug dealing (college days) wife looks a little tipsy also. Hey, no one ever accused this guy of being smart. I hope all you dumbasses who voted for him are happy. Jack Out.
