Hillary Question Plant

The college student who was told what question to ask at one of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign events says "voters have the right to know what happened" and she wasn't the only one who was planted.

In an exclusive on-camera interview with CNN, Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff, a 19-year-old sophomore at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, said that giving anyone specific questions to ask is "dishonest," and the whole incident has given her a negative outlook on politics.

Hillary Clinton claimed she had no knowledge that her aides planted the question.

Read Gallo-Chasanoff's interview with her college newspaper about the Clinton campaigns question plant.

drudge reports in big bold letters headlining his blog:

WOLF WARNED: NO GANGING UP ON HILLARY IN VEGAS!

Wolf just said it is a lie!

drudge just gave the Clintons a huge victory because all the smears will not be credible.

Thanks drudge!

So, let me see if I get this story: A campaign aid asks a student who has no connection to the campaign if she wants to ask Hillary a question, and the student agrees. The campaign aid suggests an open-ended question about global warming, and the student says OK. No money or promises are exchanged. No arms twisted. The student could have rejected the suggestion but accepted it willingly. In fact, the student was not even asked to hide the fact that she was approached by the campaign at all. And the prescribed question is hardly a softball - its subject just happens to be the most complex, controversial, and profound topic of our times, if not all time.

So, exactly how is this even remotely similar to the FEMA con job?

Hillary is not willing to take unscreened questions or provide in unscripted answers.

More evidence? CNN is also reporting, but Huffpo is VERY slow on these things, that Wolf Blitzer has been warned to protect Hillary in the next Democratic presidential debate. CNN does not want to be accused of allowing the other candidates to "gang up" on her.

But calling Hillary on her inability to take a consistent stand on ANYTHING is not ganging up. She is the frontrunner and the top fundraiser. Is American democracy suppose to just allow her to be coronated with no thought, debate or criticism for other candidates.

The Clintons sense of entitlement, their unethical practices, the Bush-Clinton corporate-fueled status quo...IT IS ALL VERY SCARY.

I want the Bushes and the Clintons to RETIRE and give us American democracy back!!!!!!!!!

Liberals are the same as right wing swift-boaters.

I think you are misrepresenting what Clinton's staff actually did, as well as exaggerating it's importance. I'm a lot more concerned about the Senator Clinton's positions on the issues, than I am about her staff suggesting questions for people to ask her.

I don't want it to be Hillary, but honestly, I'll vote for a statue of a person before I vote for a republican. If the dems put up a ham sandwich against any republican I'll vote for it because I know what will happen to this country if these assholes stay in charge. We need a dem and dem control of the house and senate to start fixing the man-children's mistakes of the last 6 years. the pube's wanted to kill the gov't and with this debt they've done a pretty good job because we're going to have to pay it back somehow. I just wish we could take all their riches away so they'll know what a desparate situation it will be to have to pay this debt back.

Besides John Edwards, has any other Presidential candidate denounced this?

I'd be curious to see how many do :)

I think that might be instructive.

It is interesting seeing Hilarious using the same campaign tactics as the Decider. These two screw balls have much in common about how they handle things and how intellectually honest and integral they are!

If she want to be compare to Bush, she should keep using his play book. I would not want to be compared to someone that is not truthful.

You KNOW Kucinich does not have planted questions. Even if not just because of the integrity exhibits, you'd know for sure because he gets such rotten, demeaning questions!

They backfire though, when the man speaks.

the real question here is this: why is the girl from Grinnell college wearing a Cornell T-shirt during her interview? Wrong -nell school, hun.

Seriously, have some school pride.

Chee-rist, this IS a non issue- every single candidate since the dawn of TIME does this, and it's a strategy to make the points the candidate wants to bring forward.

I'd sooner dig my eyes out with a spoon than vote for Hillary in either the primary OR general election, but I certainly have no problem with plants in the audience.

You have them in showbiz all the time; who cares???
