Tancredo's Iowa Ad = SUPER INSANE!

stumbleupon :Tancredo's Iowa Ad = SUPER INSANE!   digg: Tancredo's Iowa Ad = SUPER INSANE!   reddit: Tancredo's Iowa Ad = SUPER INSANE!   del.icio.us: Tancredo's Iowa Ad = SUPER INSANE!

"There are consequences to open borders," says the narrator - and he's not just talking about those Mexicans from Heroes who weep black tar from their tear ducts that makes everyone within earshot drop dead and everyone who watches the show bored out of their ever-loving minds. No, no. In this campaign ad from Tom Tancredo - who approves it because "SOMEBODY NEEDS TO SAY IT!" - currently making the lives of Iowans more bananas than they already were, the candidate fingers a grave threat to the Republic: people in stylish hoodies who jauntily carry Jansport backpacks! That's like, the entire population of most major American universities!

"Tancredo...before it's too late." Oh, but it already is.

Such ridiculous fear mongering. www.immigrantslist.org has a petition up to stop the ad from being aired.

If the Dem candidate faces this kind of over-the-top hysterics in the genl election, he or she better know how to respond. I would go with something like this:

Vote for me -- I'm not hysterical with fear. Unlike my opponent, who is prone toward fits of screaming and pissing in his pants at the mention of ‘terrorism,’ I will maintain my composure, consider facts and arguments in a cool, calm manner, and make clear-headed decisions for you, the American People. My opponent would have you believe that America has never been threatened like this before and that extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures. Like GWB, our most hysterical and easily panicked president ever, my opponent has suggested he will roll back civil rights to try to protect America. Doesn't he understand that the Constitution IS America? The president swears an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. But my opponent, like our current president, apparently feels that pieces of the Constitution should be sacrificed to the terrorists. It's shocking.

If our fathers could defend us from the USSR, a nuclear superpower, w/o surrendering chunks of the Constitution, and if our grandfathers could defend us from the encroaching Nazi and Japanese empires bent on world conquest, also w/o surrendering large portions of the Constitution, then surely we can defeat this foe without surrendering anything. I will not concede any such victory to a bunch of cave-dwelling 14th century lunatics! By surrendering the Constitution as a casualty of this war, my opponent simultaneously insults the generations that came before us and the courage they showed in the face of fear, while depriving the generations to come of the civil rights that the Founding Fathers had intended to be their birth right. My opponent needs to get grip on his fear and act like a patriot. He thinks we have to cede important ground in order to win this war; I disagree.

I BELIEVE THAT IF YOU WANT TO DEFEAT TERRORISTS, YOU SHOULD START BY TRYING NOT TO ACT TERRIFIED.
