Another Planted Clinton Question Unearthed?

As Hillary Clinton aims to regain momentum in tonight's presidential debate, new videos have surfaced on YouTube with young voters asking her questions that are similar to the fake question posed by a Grinnell college student last week.

There is no direct indication that the new footage, apparently taken from an October 16 event at a high school in Salem, New Hampshire, demonstrates any concerted effort by the Clinton Campaign to plant questions. (The campaign's media and Internet staff did not immediately respond to requests from The Nation for comment.) But in an era where web videos can spread fast and shape the views of activists and voters, the clips may feed the narrative that Clinton's tightly-run campaign is shielding her from voters' scrutiny.

Maybe someone already aske dthis, but what kept the student from asking her question? Even if she had already agreed to phrase a question a particular way, why couldn't she have gone back to her original question when the mike came around. Was Hillary holding a puppy hostage or something?

Beyond that, it would seem even by the student's own account, she didn't really raise the issue when she was asked to change her question. How do we know what would have happened if she had just said, "you know, I'd feel much more comfortable asking my original question."?

I'm not for planting questions, even if they appear to only be a variation on what the questioner originally intended, but this seems overblown. Maybe there's more to it and the level of outrage will eventually turn out to be warranted, but for now, I don't see it.

Planting questions, instead of answering spontaneous questions, is another demonstration of Hillary's tactic--winning at any cost.

She has proven to us that she is willing to win by shortchanging the Democratic base, by saying anything to get votes, and by doing anything dishonest such as planting questions.

For people here thinking planting questions is not a big deal.

I disagree.

Planting question is a big deal because it reflects the character of Hillary. She has no integrity.

I want the next resident of our White House is someone who has integrity.

This issue is not the same as Kerry's swift boating but its being handled by the opposition in the same manner: Take a non issue and hammer it home. It probably won't change anybody's mind but it will drive the negatives up.

I didn't see anything in the new Nation article that would prove any new planted question.

It's not the planting of questions that really concerns me. I'm pretty sure that all of the questioners are screened before they get the microphone to avoid any "How's Monica?" questions.

It is her blatent attempt to deceive, distort and shift blame that concerns me about her ability to lead. She has no track record as a leader and what she is showing is a cause for concern.
