Supporters of former attorney general Alberto R. Gonzales have created a trust fund to help pay for his legal expenses, which are mounting in the face of an ongoing Justice Department investigation into whether Gonzales committed perjury or improperly tampered with a congressional witness.

The establishment of a legal defense fund for the nation's former chief law enforcement officer underscores the potential peril confronting Gonzales, who is one of a handful of attorneys general to face potential criminal charges for actions taken in office.

ONLY the neocons and his relatives will give contribution to this evil person. Him and Bush are partners made in HELL!

I'd contribute generously to the fund that will lobby for rounding up the whole of the Bush cabal and ship them off to The Hague so that they can be tried for war crimes - the world will be a safer place when this scourge is gathered together behind glass enclosures awaiting their certain fate of death by hanging.

I would like to make my donation to the investigating committee to make sure this scum is investigated to the fullest.

Barack Obama, who's been scolding Hillary Rodham Clinton for not hastening the release of records from her time as first lady, says he can't step up and produce his own records from his days in the Illinois state Senate. He says he hasn't got any.

"I don't have — I don't maintain — a file of eight years of work in the state Senate because I didn't have the resources available to maintain those kinds of records,"

Yea, um, ok.

i, too, would like to offer some support to judge gonzalés.

and by 'support' i mean to say: i'll help hold him down while he is waterboarded relentlessly, until he comes to his senses and admits the truth, not only that waterboarding is torture, but also all of his complicity in the disgustingly-rampant illegal and immoral behavior of the criminally-corrupt bush administration over the last seven years.

f*ck you al - today; tommorow; and for all eternity.

Just plead guilty.

Get sentenced

Get pardoned.

Saves a lot of time and money.

Its worked that way for decades for those close to power, why worry?

Just make sure you have the paper work that connects the dots in a safe place.

I get up this morning and think I'm going to have a good day. Turn on my computer, go to Huffpo and see Gomer and Goober smiling back at me. What a way to start the day. I will donate to a fund for tickets to the Hague for both of them. Would that be tax deductible?

Why does he need a defense fund? Everybody knows George will pardon him. The current administration doesn't think he did anything wrong. In fact, he did everything right & got Bush & Co. everything they wanted.

I wonder if Gonzo believes in the golden rule.

Let's see this issue again tonight in the debates:

The Icebergs Ahead For the Democrats
By David Broder

As the Democratic presidential race finally gets down to brass tacks, two issues are becoming paramount. But only one of them is clearly on the table.

That is the issue of illegal immigration. A very smart Democrat, a veteran of the Clinton administration, told me that he expects it to be a key part of any Republican campaign and that he is worried about his party's ability to respond.

I think he has good reason to worry. The failure of the Democratic Congress, like its Republican predecessor, to enact comprehensive immigration reform, including improved border security, has left individual states and local communities to struggle with the problem. Some are showing a high degree of tolerance and flexibility. Others are being more punitive. But all of them are running into controversy.

How proud Racist-publicans must be.

Their chief 'law enforcement' (HA!) officer is a criminal.

and to think, Guiliani wanted Kerik for that job too.

You gotta love the hypocritical right who continue to claim that if you complain about illegal wiretapping then you must have something to hide. I hope the defense fund for the less fortunate can be established for the poor schmucks who get caught up in legal binds that this criminal wiretapping might visit on the victims of this administration's illegal activities. What a crew!

I hope they drag his trail out, so it will be up to President Hillary or President B. Hussein Obama whether or not to pardon him.
