Cnn Debate

AP:

Under pressure in a caustic campaign debate, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday night the American people "know where I stand" and accused her rivals of distorting her record and slinging mud "right out of the Republican playbook."

"There's nothing personal about this," countered former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, who joined Illinois Sen. Barack Obama in bluntly accusing Clinton of forever switching positions on Social Security, driver's licenses for illegal immigrants and other issues.

Hillary had a good night in theory, but I can't help think it will backfire on her. That line about being attacked because she's ahead, that makes her sound full of herself. And why does everything she say sound like fingernails on a blackboard? Is that the best she can do with voice control? I thought she was working on making that voice less irratating? It's not working. If I have to listen to that voice for 8 years it'll kill me. Seriously is she the best we can do? She's soooo unlikeable. PLEASE people, vote for anyone other than her. I'm begging. Really Kucinich is fine. Dodd okay, yeah. Biden, Edwards, Richardson all fine people and of course Obama who is easy to like. Can we just go with the guy who is easy to like. Do we really have to work so hard on putting up with her? Come on people, ANYBODY BUT HILLARY!

Hillary is ahead , only because the media is putting her ahead. I doubt if she could be the people's choice. She was always a Republican and even more so now that her husband decided to hold hands with H.W.Bush. Good and evil do not make a good combination. If you are doing God's will you don't need a lot of money. Go Edwards, Biden, Kucinich and Dodd. Bring our country back to us. I can hardly wait to see the Bush Administration and Dynasty disintegrate.

From the CNN polling everyone to a man voted Bill Richardson the most confused candidate. Was Richardson appealing to a different audience, the UFO people? Is it time for Bill Richardson to drop out and run for President of UFO, I think he would make an excellent candidate. Psssssssss Bill take Hillary with you, she’s fit right in, she changes with her audience.

NO Hillary:

1) They're questioning your positions because you flip-flop, you duck and dodge, you lie and you're inconsistent, you parse, you straddle the fence. American has had enough of your kind of miserable half-truth politics.

2) There is no mud throwing, there is no swiftboating. There is only your bullshit and hyperbole.

3) Besides, you're actually not a head, your a ass.

When your husband is Bill Clinton (90 percent appoval rating among Dems), you have his roledex for campaign cash, you have been at his side for 8 years in the White House (not sure what she did there) and the best you can do is get 4 out of 10 "Democrats" to support you, that isn't very good. Why is she not in the 60's in the polls? Not exactly a screaming endorsement.

Last night was the first debate I watched, and I watched it because I couldn't go anywhere. Been home all week sick as a dog with the flu.

Here's how I'd rank the candidates performance from best to worst.

1.) Dodd
2.) Biden
3.) Hillary
4.) Richardson
5.) Barack
6.) Edwards
7.) Kucinich (big disappointment. He looked and sounded bitter)

Where's the next Repub debate going to be held? In Baghdad or Bethlehem?

This Is Why You Should Vote For Biden In January Folks
BLITZER:
What do you think? Senator Biden, here's the question: What do you think about this exchange among Democrats? Is that good for the Democrats or is it bad?

BIDEN: Hey, look, let's get to it, folks. The American people don't give a darn about any of this stuff that's going on up here. Look, they're sitting -- no, seriously, think about it.

They're sitting down at their tables at night, they put their kids to bed, and they're worried about whether or not their child is going to run into a drug dealer on the way to school. They're worried about whether or not they're going to be able to pay for their mortgage because, even if they didn't have one of those subprime mortgages, things are looking bad for them.

BIDEN: They're worrying about whether they're going to keep their job. And they're worried about whether their son in the National Guard's going to get killed in Iraq. Ladies and gentlemen
Every political campaign gets to this place. And I'm not criticizing any of the three people who are the ones who always get to talk all the time at these things.

(APPLAUSE)

(LAUGHTER)

I'm not. I'm not. I'm not criticizing. But look, folks, let's get straight to it here. This is not about experience. It's not about change. It's about action.

Who among us is going to be able to, on day one, step in and end the war? Who among us understands what to do about Pakistan? Who among us is going to pick up the phone and immediately interface with Putin and lay off Georgia because Saakashvili is in real trouble?

Who among us knows what they're doing? I have 35 years of experience. While everyone's talking about their experience -- and Hillary has great experience and John and the rest of them, I was passing the Violence Against Women Act.

I watched the debate last night, Wolf Blitzer was not kind nor lax with Hillary, it was the opposite, he wanted Hillary to fumble, it was obvious the way he asked her questions adding to question from the audience. Obama dropped the ball last night. Among all of them last night, I pick Biden as the winner, second Hillary.

Although some of you here pretend to be a democrat and deliver your diatribes against Hillary; the Clinton years was the BEST in the Whitehouse. As one poster here had stated, Hillary would is a tough one. Everything was thrown in her direction, including the kitchen sink, she's still standing and remain the frontrunner; AND I like that! A woman who can strut the strut of men!

"No matter how cynical you become, it's never enough to keep up." Lily Tomlin

I don't think Biden is too Cynical.
I think when the two frontrunners in the Democratic primary are Republicans the party is in trouble. Hillary packed the CNN crowd, you could tell by how they cheered when Hillary threw mud, and booed if anyone called Hillary on her pro-war, anti-union stand.

Robert Taft could not be more of a Republican than Obama.

"If the people have the choice between a democrat pretending to be a Republican and a real Republican, the Republican will win"...Harry Truman.

Obama or Hillary will lose the election.
FOUR MORE YEARS; FOUR MORE YEARS

"They're attacking me because I'm ahead." Well yeah, Hillary, that's probably true. But isn't that S.O.P. in politics these days? Wouldn't Bubba suggest you do the same if Edwards or Obama were ahead in the polls?

You seem to be saying, "It's just politics." But if anyone knows what politics is all about and uses that knowledge to the hilt, it's Bubba Clinton...who has insulted our intelligence by suggesting the other guys are picking on you.
