Cnn Debate

AP:

Under pressure in a caustic campaign debate, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton said Thursday night the American people "know where I stand" and accused her rivals of distorting her record and slinging mud "right out of the Republican playbook."

"There's nothing personal about this," countered former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, who joined Illinois Sen. Barack Obama in bluntly accusing Clinton of forever switching positions on Social Security, driver's licenses for illegal immigrants and other issues.

Well, I have to disagree with Hillary. I don't know where she stands. And I was not able to watch the debate because it was only broadcast on CNN and the homeless shelter where I am staying here in Burlington doesn't get CNN. I'm sure that I'm not the only American voter who wanted to watch but could not.

The Dem candidates are a diverse group of people which is why they're getting most of the attention. I believe America is happy to see it as well.

Then we have the opposing side that brings the audience back to the 1850's and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZQI0Xm29To

The rightwingnuts and their pandering pundits in media have made careers of Hillary bashing for decades. This was systematic defamation for decades. Regardless of her position on anything from her personal life, to domestic and foreign policy -- they will make her wrong.
To be fair, let's remember, for the eight years of her husband's tenure in the White House, she was vilified for being "too liberal" for her feminist stance, for her background of activism, for not being "feminine" enough, or not "knowing her place" and for having a strong and educated opinion on matters involving both her family and public affairs. She was dragged through the mud for graciously and privately dealing with her husband's dalliances, and then for staying in her marriage. When they bored of kicking Hillary around, they occasionally turned on her daughter Chelsea, a child at the time, who had to grow up hearing the press ridiculing her appearance. Following that, Hillary was repeatedly defamed for her leadership in the Senate. And now as a Presidential candidate.
Whether you like her or her policies, you have to admit that the comments are more often than not, personal attacks -- not legitimate debates -- and more often than not, completely meritless.

I loved it when, I think it was Obama, said regarding progress in Iraq that there was progress in some "neighborhoods".
Neighborhoods!
It's provinces, Barack, meaning lots of neighborhoods and cities and everything. But kudos on the grudging acceptance of the little bit you are forced to admit.

One, I was surprised Roberts even acknowledged it in his question and, two, one of those donkeys even approached finally admitting the facts.

All this focus on Hill misses the real star of the debate-- Joe Biden who laid it out clear as day, I have the real experience that is why the heads of state call me. Please let us get off this Bush/Clinton bandwagon funded by many of the same folks.

May be its just me its not good idea to corner a candidate into yes or no answers to complicated questions. I would much rather hear the entire thought process into discuss multi-faceted complicated questions like the immigration reforms. May be that is why I was not too happy when the people here just piled on Hillary because she seemed to waffle on the issue of immigration reforms. I did not see it as waffling but rather a tacit acknowledgment on her part that this issue has many sides to it and that what the governor was trying to do has merit in it, but at the same time she was aware that the GOP was going to exploit that.

What a crappy article--mentions Kucinich's name near the end and calls him the 'left flank'--his positions represent the majority of Dem voters, not the left flank--Hillary, Obama and Edwards--3 corporate shills sniping at one another, not talking about the open borders, the Fed, the demise of the dollar, the North American Union, our soldiers stationed in 130 countries around the world, our intelligence apparatus staging terrorism and coups in our names, a police state swallowing our democracy--they're scum people, they are corporate, military industrial complex shills

It was quite telling when Biden said the Repubs were sticking with Bush out of loyality, but privately telling him they too believe the scam war in Iraq is a clusterfuck.

Tells you what fools and suckers the Bushbots on HuffPo are being played for.
