Lou Dobbs

Lou Dobbs for President? Don't laugh. After months of telling reporters that he "absolutely" would not consider leaving his highly-rated CNN show in which he crusades against free trade and illegal immigration, Mr. Dobbs posted a commentary on his Web site last week predicting a surprise new presidential candidate in 2008. The mystery candidate is an "independent populist . . . who understands the genius of this country lies in the hearts and minds of its people and not in the prerogatives and power of its elites."

Friends of Mr. Dobbs say he is seriously contemplating a race for the first time, although it's still unlikely. They spin a scenario under which the acerbic commentator would parachute into the race if Michael Bloomberg, the New York billionaire and favorite of East Coast elites, enters the field as an independent. With Hillary Clinton continuing to score badly in polls in the categories of honesty and integrity, and with the public's many doubts about Rudy Giuliani and other GOP contenders, Mr. Bloomberg may well see an opportunity to roil the political waters by entering the race late. If so, Mr. Dobbs then sees a niche for a "fourth-party" candidate who could paint the three other contenders as completely out of touch.

Yes, in the grand tradition of George Wallace, Pat Buchanan, Ross Perot, and other angry white male asswipes, here's Lou Dobbs, friend of the humble common man who speaks only the truth!!

Enemy of the elites, despite his six-figure (or more) salary working for a corporate media beast that surely does business with the hated Communist China, here's Lou to tell it like it is!!

Line up to buy, you suckers, and prove P.T. Barnum right once again!!

From all these emotions it's apparent that several posters have "skin" in the game.
Lou is America and Americans first. I'm not hearing that from the others: I'd vote for him.

Lou is exactly right on illegal immigration, exactly right on what "free trade" in this country has done to the middle class, and exactly right on Iraq. That's good enough for me as I don't see anyone else running who has nailed it on all three of those, except for maybe Joe Biden. How refreshing and downright great would it be to have someone running not in big-businesses' pocket, except for John Edwards. Give me someone with fire in his/her belly about the real issues of this formerly great nation! Someone needs to step up, we can't take much more of the current crap.

Let's see now. This phoney man of the people, this multi-millionaire, this long-time Wall Street warrior has spent the past year telling his viewers that both political parties are worthless, that they should register independent, and lo and behold, now he just might run for prez as the independent choice. Who'd thunk it.
Ya gotcher dumb Fox viewers and ya gotcher dumb CNN viewers. In American, what you can be sure of is you got your brain dead VIEWERS who learn anything they think they know about policy and politics out of the mouths of tv talkers. Sheesh.

Another dumbo with delusions of greatness (think: Bush). Lou ain't got the goods. The last fiasco in office should have taught us once and for all DO NOT put incompetents into high places. Please take note of the devestation the last imbecile will leave in his path. It would be insignificant compared to a Dobbs presidency.

I don't know Dobbs, but reading some of the comments here, it appears that all the bigoted immigrant haters would vote for Dobbs.

A Dobbs candidacy should have HRC scared white: Most of his constituency would naturally be hers or Obama's. Perhaps, it will FORCE both to back away from AMNESTY for ILLEGALS(fig-leafed), massive guest-worker panders to business, and any further give-aways like the DREAM Act!
