MTV: There's been a lot of talk recently about the nudity you did in the Wes Anderson short "Hotel Chevalier" and "Goya's Ghosts." Some quotes attributed to you made it sound like you regret doing the nudity.

Portman: Yeah. It was really silly.

MTV: What do you take away from that situation?

Portman: That I shouldn't open my mouth.

MTV: So to clarify, you regretted the nudity in "Goya's Ghosts"?

Portman: I don't really have regrets. It's more that I don't like misappropriation of stuff, like when you create something as part of a story and then a piece of it ends up on a porn site. It's meant to be a dramatic scene and part of a story. That really makes me angry. It's inevitable and I should know what happens but ...

"She sucks. ....If you look at her filmography, she never carries a movie alone."
==========================================

I would have agreed with this comment (but not too harshly like you put it) only if V for Vandetta didn't come out. With that movie she carried it and carried it very well I thought. It was great. (from a non-NP-lover nor NP-hater)

Natalie, I can't imagine why you would even bother commenting after the fact.
Your part in the film must be breathtaking, as always.

LOL, WTF is this headline?

Natalie Portman's Nude Scene Regrets: "I Don't Like The Misappropriation"

She says she has no real regrets and the thing in the headline is a friggin complaint not a regret.

Who wrote this shit?

She sucks. she's the type of actress that's famous cause she surrounds herself with people more famous and talented than she. If you look at her filmography, she never carries a movie alone. she can't pull off a "Legally Blonde" like Reese Witherspoon, cause no one's checkin' for her like that. There are always these reasons to see the films she's in, and rarely is she one of them. Natalie's always got to be surrounded by a Lucas, a Kidman, a Law, a Roberts, Wachowski brother, special effects, and so on and so forth, cause she's not a box office draw. But she's in all the prestigious fashion rags and Vanity Fair and what not and she went to Harvard, so you all want to believe she's special, instead of lucky and strategic. I'm really hoping Lindsay Lohan gets her act together, cause in terms of looks, charisma, box office draw potential, and acting talent, Lindsay's actually worth a damn.

A beautiful woman should be proud of her body.

I get the feeling that when she said "I don't like the misappropriation" she was talking to US. Taking a brief movie segment with less skin shown than Charlton Heston displayed in Planet of the Apes 39(?) years ago and turning it into a 'cause celeb' for the internet gossip mills. I'd call that misappropriation, would you?

I like her.

Quote: "Portman: Absolutely. ... I go between confidence and insecurity all the time. ... I might think I won't be able to do something, but I'll do it anyway, because I've sort of known that failing isn't that bad. Especially with my job, no one gets hurt. If I mess up, it's like, "OK, somebody loses a little money," which I know is a big deal to some people, but no one dies."

Not a bad sentiment.

Also -- If you haven't seen WHERE THE HEART IS, watch it. It is wonderful.

I'm not a Starwars fan. I did watch the first one once--whenever it was that it came out on cable.

I've seen WHERE THE HEART IS at least half a dozen times.

Nude scene? Not really. Highly edited scenes where nothing is shown. On the other hand her constantly talking about them is just shameless self-promotion. Scandal. Implied nudity with nipples airbrushed out. Oh the horror. Oh how brave. Oh how absolutely irrelevant and just plain annoying.

Glad we never hear real actresses like Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Connelly, etc talk like that.

I like Portman as an actress and she comes across as an adult young lady, but I am so disappointed that she suddenly refuses to stand up for her scene in the movie.

To back down like that shows little character. As for it being on a porn site? So what? It's just a very short clip from the back and really shows nothing but shadows of her rear.

hardly anything to get worked up about.

Natalie Portman is a cheap slut, if people haven't figured that out already. She's got a mouth that would shock a sailor.

I've not seen the images in question. Too lazy to search. But I do know that Ms. Portman has much more to do to atone for her lamentable Star Wars scenes. Oy! The dialog with that fop Anikin was excruciating. Inexplicable because she CAN act (and I saw that Hayden dude acting in some other movie where he was competent).

Portman is one of the few young actors with any sense of perspective on what she does. Unlike most of twenty-something actors and those older actors who have never quite grown up, Portman doesn't have her head stuck up her ass. She brings something to the table that Hollywood desperately needs: Class and intelligence. That she wasn't born in this country explains an awful lot about how she deals with her notoriety and the issue of nudity. It would be a prevarication if I said she isn't beautiful and a physical turn on but she is equally attractive because she is intelligent and shows a great deal of self-respect.

This is a load of crap....SHE WASN'T NUDE IN THE MOVIE!! She had a body double, it's all over the web...google the movie name w/her name!

Thus her huin' & cryin' about this is just a crass publicity move to draw attention to the movie...and I find THAT very disappointing & outta character for her.
