Why Does Fox News Favor Giuliani? Well, Lots Of Reasons

Of all the allegations contained in former ReganBooks Publisher Judith Regan's lawsuit against her one-time employers at Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., the most explosive is the first. Regan charges that News Corp. executives wanted to destroy her reputation because she knew too much about her ex-boyfriend, former New York City Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik, and that what she knew could be harmful to the presidential hopes of Rudy Giuliani -- whom she depicts as the preferred candidate of News Corp. and its subsidiary, Fox News. According to Regan's suit, "This smear campaign was necessary to advance News Corp.'s political agenda, which has long centered on protecting Rudy Giuliani's presidential ambitions."

Regan and the married Kerik had a well-publicized yearlong affair. Their assignations often took place in a lower Manhattan apartment that had been specifically reserved for the use of workers in the aftermath of 9/11. After Giuliani left the mayor's office on January 1, 2002, Kerik went to work for him as a consultant at Giuliani Partners. Kerik and Regan broke up later in 2002. In December 2004, according to Regan's complaint, when President Bush tapped Kerik, at Giuliani's recommendation, to head the federal Department of Homeland Security, Regan was pressured to keep quiet, and asked to lie on Kerik's behalf. "[A] senior executive in the News Corp. organization told Regan that he believed she had information about Kerik that, if disclosed, would harm Giuliani's presidential campaign. This executive advised Regan to lie to, and to withhold information from, investigators concerning Kerik. ... [D]efendants knew they would be protecting Giuliani if they could preemptively discredit her."

Rudy keeps his mouth shut about why WTC7 was demolished, he seems to be the golden boy to come out of all that and his friend Rupert wants him to be President, it's one of the few things he doesn't own. And we all know how much he wants to 'help us decide what to think about things' so he really wants Rudy in there. Many men who cheat on their wives assuage their feelings of guilt by convincing themselves that their wives are also having affairs, and deflect questions about their own actions by accusing their spouses of the ill behavior they themselves are guilty of.

Psychiatrists have a term for this called "Projection". And it happens to nations as well as people.

Israel knows it has been clandestinely building nuclear weapons of mass destruction underneath Dimona. Israel knows that the rest of the world knows (or at least suspects) Israel's immoral behavior. So Israel assuages its feelings of guilt by imagining that every other nation is doing the exact same thing, and hurling accusations at other countries of the crime Israel is itself guilty of.

Just as there is no amount of evidence that will convince the cheating husband that his wife is faithful, there is no amount of evidence that will convince Israel that Iraq or Iran is not building nuclear weapons. Indeed, the cheating husband will decide that the well-meaning friends supporting his wife are all part of a "plot" to deceive him, just as Israel, rather than facing the truth, accuses the IAEA of "failure" to see what Israel believes to be obvious.

Psychiatrists have a term for this as well called "Paranoid Delusion".

And from Paranoid Delusion to Psychotic Break is a short step indeed, and worrisome when the "patient" has nuclear weapons.

What do Fox News, George Bush, and Giuliani have in common?

They are all part of the same tight circle.

And Giuliani is the one annointed to carry on the same disastrous foreign policy that Bush Jr and Fox News have been inflicting upon America.

As a Republican, the prospects are absolutely dismal. Rudy sucks. So does McCain and McCain lite (Romney). All the pres candidate are democrats, basically. Rudy thinks that if he walks in and tells a crowd he has always gone to church and believes everyone should have a gun permit, they will just drool and believe him, and he is evidently right.

Any of the fringe guys, like Tancredo, would be better than the front runners. We thought Thompson would be the big hero, but he doesn't seem to want it bad enough. Conservatives are ready for a complete turnover, but there is no one with the desire or the street cred to take the reins. maybe it will take 8 years of Hillary's Spanish speaking worker's paradise to get people to come back to their senses.

Anyway, it sucks to be an informed Republican who actually pays attention to things right now, you will be happy to know. Cheers!
