In just a few short days, America will observe Thanksgiving, a celebration of the most successful border incursion by illegal immigrants in the history of North America, where pilgrims from fancy-pants Europe came to America to perform all of the work that the Native Americans weren't willing to do, like give each other smallpox and kill off their own culture. It's a day for Americans to gather, typically on the New Jersey Turnpike, and give an annual boost to all the people who foolishly thought they'd get rich making cranberry sauce.

By and large, this is a holiday that most Americans seem to have down, but Fox and Friends' Brian Kilmeade still doesn't think we know the true meaning of Thansgiving - and so he took to the airwaves today to tell the world about how the Pilgrims signed a "peace agreement" with "his favorite Indians." He seems to think that those Indians were something called the "Okawi" (they weren't: they were Wampanoag, also known as Patuxet), but that's beside the point. They were "the good Indians," Kilmeade says.

Yes. That's right. The "good" Indians. Wonder what they're thankful for this holiday season?

people ask me what my ethnic background is, and they always want to guess. Italian? Hispanic? Greek? nope, Cherokee. And when I tell them, they look at me as if I had said Martian. I have no idea why people of Native descent are such an odditiy, but my experience has been 'wow, look at you, an injun! you must get drunk easily'. People are just simpletons.

If these are the "good Indians", then please define "bad Indians".

A little off the subject but maybe not. I live in Alaska where every business proclaims "doing business in Alaska (or their town in Alaska) x many years". One native corporation in Anchorage says it all. Their sign reads "doing business in Alaska over 10,000 years". I love it! Fox and Friends should be called 'Fox and Frauds". What idiots!

Un-friggin believable. However, I NOW know why the immigration "debate" is such a hot issue. Perhaps those who oppose Brown Skin people coming over our borders (not to mention that a lot of territory in the south west belonged to them in the first place) are afraid they may bring some weapon of mass destruction similar to the small pox laden blankets the Europeans brought over here to "show good faith". Just saying...

What is that guy talking about---I guess he still thinks: "umm only good injun's a dead injun!"

Freakin' moron!!!

I have to hand it to the native people's of this land--go to an native people's gathering (pow-wow)--and they open each one with the American flag and the flags of each military service being brought in along with a POW/MIA flag--

As one of these events started--the person leading the ceremonies said--"I have been asked why we would honor these flags considering our people have suffered under them--we do so because they represent the land and the people of this nation." He also mentioned the fact that native people's have always proudly served in our military since the earliest days of this nation continuing on to today.

To me --that is very magnanimous considering the fact the white/European culture did all it could do to wipe out these people and their cultures---I don't know if I could be thus if I were of native american descent.

This Faux News guy, like most white Americans is so totally ignorant about native american people's

Brian is a dolt, a simpleton. He just can't help himself because there is a stipulation in his contract that says he can only have an IQ 1 point higher than his audience. I think he is pushing it, but isn't an IQ of 71 the average FOX news listener's IQ.

I was leaving the Grand Canyon a few years back and passed a sign that advertised souvenirs being sold by "Friendly Indians" 1/2 mile ahead. I kid you not! I've been tempted ever since to go back some night and put up a sign advertising souvenirs being sold by "Throat Cuttin' Savages" 3/4 mile ahead.

The good Indians, huh? Well, hardly surprising, since I think Kilmeade's version of Thanksgiving comes from watching F Troop (weren't the Okawi the tribe on F Troop?).

Hey - sure he's a moron, but listen closely - the 'heckowee' or 'fuckowee' is the punchline to a bad joke about a lost tribe. As in "We're the heckowee!?" (say it out loud).

About "Indians" vs "Native Americans": in my experience as a teacher, most people descended from the First Americans prefer to be called by their nation's name, as in Seneca, Onondaga, etc - baring that, it's Indian. The NA thing is usually used by PC types on both sides of the aisle

Wonder what he makes of the Pilgrims and their descendants who exploited, bullied, and ultimately massacred "the Good Indians" over the next couple generations?

It would be interesting to see if Kilmeade had any additional remarks or clarified his statement. Unfortunately like the Rush 'Phony Soldiers' video clips, the Huffpost decided to end the clips immediately after the offensive statement. It makes you wonder what followed it.

Not "Okawi"--"HEKAWI." From the TV show F-Troop.

F Troop was a classic comedy set in the Old West. Fort Courage was the home of the US Army's sorriest band of misfits, led by the well-meaning Captain Parmenter, scion of a distinguished line of military officers, but himself naive, clumsy, bumbling and reliant on the Army manual. The old hand of the fort was Sergeant O'Rourke, who secretly ran O'Rourke Enterprises, a string of profitable but not always upstanding businesses, on the side, including the town saloon and an Indian souvenir company. He was happy when Parmenter was assigned to Fort Courage, a commanding officer who would be easy to hide his shenanigans from. O'Rourke's sidekick was the loyal but not too bright Corporal Agarn. Their business partner was the cranky but affable Wild Eagle, chief of the Hekawi. Completing the circle was Wrangler Jane, the beautiful blonde owner of the general store in town. She was a expert in all things Western, including shooting, horseback riding and lassoing, and fancied the dashing, young captain who was too bashful to return her affections in public.

Perhaps he was referring to the Hekawi-- the tribe from the TV series "F-Troop..."
