Bill O'Reilly Shows Up In Afghanistan

Former Marine, war correspondent for World Net Daily and embedded blogger Matt Sanchez spotted Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly arriving and getting ready to spend some time with the troops. Says Matt:

O'Reilly pulled into Afghanistan to say hello to the troops, but was spared the red carpet treatment.

Here he is at Billeting getting a standard-issue pillow and blanket.

O'Reilly made a surprise Christmas trip to Iraq last year. This is his first trip to Afghanistan.

Once again, the people who actually support the troops such as B O'R put their butt on the line.

The HuffPo 2nd guessers who hate the troops are waiting for another creamy hot load from Al-Qaeda and the MSM to hit the back of their throats.

"Yet O'Reilly, at his age and single, was high priority draftee material yet never enlisted or was drafted and his record of the Vietnam era remains blank. Today's - but not yesterday's - super patriot, entered Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York in the fall of 1967. He was active as a columnist for the student newspaper The Circle as well as a member of the football team which meant he suffered no great physical handicap which would exempt him from military service.

In the bloodiest days of the Vietnam war we find Bill O'Reilly and Bill Clinton as college students in England.

O'Reilly spent his junior year, 1969-1970 at the University of London. The previous year, 1968, Bill Clinton had entered Oxford. So in the heat of the Vietnam war and its greatest battles, we find Bill O'Reilly and Bill Clinton as college students in England. In these years, U.S. troops in Vietnam topped the half million mark and American combat deaths now totaled thirty-three thousand, a sum greater than the Korean War. And in 1969, Life magazine shocked America with portrait photos of all 242 Americans killed in Vietnam in just one single week.

Then, in the fall of 1970, he returned to Marist College from England, rejoined the football team and graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. In that year, 1971, American deaths in Vietnam passed the forty-five thousand marker..

Yet after graduation, and with the conscription law and the draft lottery in full force, O'Reilly would never be inducted. Instead, he was off to Florida where he took a job teaching at a high school. Two years later, in 1973, he was back in college at Boston University for a master's degree in broadcast journalism. By that time he finished at Boston U., the draft and the war were history. And neither would ever play any part in the life of one of America's most vocal defenders of patriotic ways and values."

The troops, i would imagine, don't support him. They recieve orders to pretend or just to be nice. Since they are soldiers they can't refuse and the the media looks at it and says, "HEY THEY LOVE BILL O'REILEY" when really they all probably hate him.... esp since anyone who disagrees with him.. or any other neocon for that matter, hates america and wants "THE BIG BAD MUSLIMS" to eat our children, enslave our women, and rape our cattle.... or something like that.

Well guys, you got to understand one BIG difference between OReilly and Franken. Franken "supports" the troops but not the goals of their efforts or the war mission. OReilly "supports" the troops and also supports their efforts and the war mission. Don't fool yourself, this is not lost with the servicemen. I can tell that it does no good for a service member when a leftist gives him a pat on the back and than begins to trash his mission, leaders and war effort. Sorry, that's not a moral booster.

I've always found it interesting when these celebs and other's say they "support" the troops but not the war effort. As far as OReilly is concerned, his efforst will be trashed by the far left no matter what he does. I wonder when Keith Olbermann will go over there?
