Thompson

Congressional Quarterly:

Several House Republicans who endorsed Fred Thompson for president now say that they are frustrated with what they view as an apathetic campaign, and at least one regrets having committed to the former Tennessee senator.

"I think he's kind of done a belly flop," said an estranged Thompson backer who indicated he will not pull his public support before the "Super Tuesday" primaries. "We'll just wait till after Feb. 5 because I think he's going to get beat."

The disaffected members of team Thompson say he has failed to put to rest whispers that he is unwilling to campaign hard enough to win the presidency.

Just the thought of Fred Thompson's "Belly" makes me want to throw up.

A Nation of 300,000,000 and Republican trash come up with Jabba the Hut for President.

Just like the Delcine and Fall of the Roman Empire.

Disgusting.

Another fucking disasterous prediction by the MSM. Here are some of the whoppers about the "brilliant" Fred Thompson.

The MSM said Fred was going to save us, America and the GOP. He was the aqua velva man.

He isn't lazy. Newsweek said that's just a dodge to cover up the fact that he's brilliant and a genius.

He was the next Reagan. The next Bush. The next big thing.

He was a good ole boy with a (rented) fire truck. Just a guy who didn't know much about nothing who you could have a beer with.

The MSM wanted their Bush II, and they're still not getting it.

Anyone want to start a betting pool on how long it will be before Fred is preening himself so that he can peddle his book about "running for president"...not about being president, a position for which he clearly, to everyone, even himself, is not qualified, but getting into the run is all about massaging his actor's sized ego..one poorly deserved based on his 2-dimensional acting ability. Central Casting? Don't you have any curmedeonly bag o' wrinkles we can use to fill in while Fred's unavailable?

On what did people base their support for Fred? What statesmanlike utterances did they hear? My guess is some good old boy thought Fred might possibly get elected, not that he'd be a good president.

The epitome of the GOP syndrome... we've created our own reality, we play by our own rules, so we can invent our own heroes from whole cloth -- Fred, Rudy, McCain, etc.

Welcome to fuckin' WAKE UP.

08's gonna be the worst ride of your lives. Start preparing your rationalizations, explanations and excuses now and beat the rush. Denial takes preparation.

Oh. And McCain has the same problem. Even Tweety Matthews kept mistaking McCain's mom for his wife during their interview.

Belly flop soon to be followed by a "dirt nap". Phantom Phred's days of putting his left foot in to do the "Hokey Pokey" are long gone. Soon he'll be dancing with Mr. D, and putting his left and right foot in the grave. It's not the smell of desperation that voters have caught a whiff of.

And this was the man some touted as the new Reagan? The neopugs are very lethargic in the support of their candidates in general.

Any credence to the chimp taking over for good? Nah. That is still the land of conspiracy theories. Right?

But what about all those bumper stickers?

I'll bet the "anonymous" spokesperson in the Tennessee delegation would be that "genius" Zak Womp or the other "mensa" candidate Marsha Blackburn. Those two have as much political savy as their leader Fred.

This clown is going nowhere fast.

I guess Fred thought it was an audition and not a campaign. What an idiot.

I hate to say this about the man, because he is suffering from cancer...but remember the old saying "Dead Fred the guy in the wooden overcoat"

He might be a good president. He's too lazy to invade other countries. We might finally have peace.

Gee - what a shock.

Republicans have a fine stable of steeds from which to choose their presidential candidate. Fred Thompson is no worse than the rest. They each have flaws. His is terminal laziness. He was flattered into running, and evidently thought it would be a cakewalk ... he could follow in the incompetent footsteps of GWBush and no one would say him nay.
His Republican "supporters" are demonstrating some degree of dishonesty if they are no longer supporting his candidacy, but leave the impression that he is still their choice.
Go figure.
