Mcclellan Lies

This evening on Hardball, Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee became the first presidential candidate to make a public statement on former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan's admission that he had "passed along false information" intended to "exonerate" Karl Rove and Scooter Libby in l'affaire Plame.

Huckabee: "It's stunning. It's one of those moments where I'm glad to not be a Washington insider...they are serious allegations but we don't know whether they're true...they deserve to be thoroughly investigated and the truth brought to the American people."

Of course, Huckabee's response was something of a fait accompli, seeing as how the prior discussion on Hardball centered on how Huckabee could use the McClellan announcement to highlight the fact that he wasn't a "Washington insider."

So who pissed McClellan off enough to make him come clean? Has Bush stopped taking his calls? Have they demanded he give back his key to the executive washroom? (That has a VERY special connotation among the members of the party who profess a "Wide Stance", by the way).

Let's face it, one of these "insider" books doesn't take that long to write. He could have said something within a three or four months of leaving his job.

Huckabee is guided by a collection of Bronze Age Myths, just what the doctor ordered!

Maybe Huckabee can ask God and then tell everyone what really took place.
