Ron Paul

Campaigning through Northern Nevada today, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul picked up the enthusiastic support of Nevada brothel owner Dennis Hof.

After sitting through a 20-minute press conference with Paul, Hof vowed to put up a collection box outside the door of his Moonlight Bunny Ranch brothel to take up contributions for the candidate who he says, "Makes a lot of sense, doesn't he?"

"I'll do it today," he said. "I'll get all the Bunnies together and we can raise him some money. I'll put up a collection box outside the door. They can drop in $1 dollar, $5 dollar contributions. What a great way for the working girls to support Ron Paul. It's just the right thing to do."

Paul's campaign was surprised to see Hof, flanked by two prostitutes, emerge from a limousine outside of Lawlor Events Center this morning. They arrived with MSNBC journalist Tucker Carlson, who has been traveling with Paul for a piece he's writing for the New Republic.

Ron Paul is a doctor? No Way! Wow, did he heed that ol' "physician heal thyself" mantra a little too closely. Little too liberal with the oxycontin there Doc, Ay? Ask Rush? That shit will fuck you up! Jack Out.

The Puritanical sex-conflicted bigots titllated over "pimping" might be interested to know that both St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine were, considering human nature, in favor of prostitution. (Summan Theologica, 2.a -2ae 8-16) I wonder how many young men would be better off to have, as it has been said, their "ashes hauled" before they date someone's daughter?

I'd like to know who the joker is on the HuffPo staff that chooses the worst photos of Ron Paul s/he can find to publish. Also, the editorial choice of the smear pieces chosen for this blog. www.ronpaulforpresident2008.com has got the biggest array of media articles on Ron Paul I've ever seen. This is where you can get a good sense of where Paul's campaign is at any given moment and also see who's written what about him (although I doubt this smear piece will grace its web pages)

Isn't it a shame that the only candidate who would support prostitution is Ron Paul, a libertarian who doesn't know when enough is enough. There are plenty of libertarian issues that could benefit all of us, especially after the Bush mob. Freedom of speech is a biggie. Freedom to visit a prostitute is related. How about legalization of Marijuana? I could go on.

We, as Americans, are concerned about our freedoms. So are libertarians. However, the libertarians would just as soon see you die because you can't afford insurance. Libertarians would be happy to ignore initiatives like stem cell research and space travel, not for "moral" reasons, but for philosophical reasons. Survival of the fittest and all.

Libertarians believe in small government. Not a bad thing, but they, like most Americans, don't understand that Government is simply an instrument to perform the will of the people. We, the people, have simply gotten lazy and let government do what bureaucrats want, not the citizens of this land.

This Goof Ron Paul couldn't buy his way into a brothel if he was crapping out $100 bills a mile a minute. What a doofus! Jack Out.

Has anyone commented so far what the article said?
That the brothel owner and hooker got out of a Limo with Tucker Carlson?
"Paul's campaign was surprised to see Hof, flanked by two prostitutes, emerge from a limousine outside of Lawlor Events Center this morning. They arrived with MSNBC journalist Tucker Carlson, who has been traveling with Paul for a piece he's writing for the New Republic."
WTF? Can anyone say setup.

Misanthrope2: you know you're doing something right when Galveston comes after you. But give it up. People like Galv and Conserve would like nothing better than to turn back the clock, and they are as antisocial as the rest of their ilk.

I'm a Democrat, no Ron Paul supporter, and I think this is definetly not a big deal. This guy is no more sleazy than any of the oil people who give Republicans money on a regular basis. I have a much bigger problem, as others have mentioned, with Ron Pauls past bigoted statements and support he gets from racists.

Ron Paul is a libertarian. He supports ending drug prohibition and he probably supports the legalization of prostitution.

Prostitution, often called "the oldest profession", has been around since the beginning of human civilization, and millennia of persecution have never succeded in erradicating it. The only thing it has succeeded in doing is driving sex workers into the black market and leaving them in the hands of ruthless pimps and human trafickers.

The brothel owner from Nevada differs from the pimps that run prostitution in the other 49 states in that his is a legal business subject to government regulations and oversight designed to ensure that he respects the civil, human and labor rights of his employees.

All prostitutes in America should be as lucky as the ones in Nevada

What a shitty headline & equally shitty picture of Congressman Paul. Very disappointing; I had come to expect better of the Huff Post. Double shame on you.

Whether you like it or not, it's legal to own and operate a brothel in Nevada. This guy's just another businessman making a contribution. If we don't like people contributing to political campaigns, make contributing illegal.

I don't see how ANY presidential candidate could get any money if they didn't take it from thieves and crooks. This site is not big enough to list the dirty laundry of the big contributors, whether it is for Ron Paul or H, Hi, Hil, I can't even say her name. Keep in mind, we have to fight against there being one set of rules for us - we the people - and another set for the politicians and corporate elite. Don't fuel the already lopsided notion that we the people have to be politically correct and clean and virtuous while behind the scenes, the major campaign contributors and politicians themselves get to do whatever they like. They are the ones in control of the media, they are the ones with the double standard of us having to behave a certain way and they get to do whatever the freak they want, and lately, with no repercussions or input by the people who keep them in business and pay their salaries. I don't care where Paul gets his funding. Anybody who can see the criminality of the Federal Reserve - how it came to be, how it still is and how it is bringing America to it's knees - gets my vote.

What about Hillary's and Obama's contributors?

You know the Chinese lobby, the "Drug" lobby, the illegal alien lobby ... the un-American lobby ... the Bush lobby .. the keep-the-illegal-occupation-of-Iraq-going lobby ... the do-not-repeal-the-Patriot-Act lobby, the do-not-secure-our-Borders lobby ... etc .....

Why no "news" about their supporters? Hillary is a sell-out ... she was in the past with her HMO health care and will be in the future ...

Vote Ron Paul and save what is left of America and Americans.
