NYT Sat On US-Pakistan Scoop To Appease White House Concerns

Bush And Musharraf

Politico:

When the New York Times published a front page story Sunday about the United States' and Pakistan's joint clandestine efforts to protect nuclear weapons, the newspaper offered a glimpse into a "highly classified program" the Bush administration long objected to seeing in print.

That is, apparently, until now.

In the article's 11th paragraph, the Times disclosed that publication was delayed "for more than three years," after the administration argued "that premature disclosure could hurt the effort to secure the weapons."

You had me at, "NYT...Appeases Whitehouse Concerns."
That they continue to kiss Bush's ass should come as no surprise. Didn't Judith Miller prove that already?
'Liberal media' is the biggest misnomer on record. Thank God for the bloggosphere.

When will people finally wake up and smell the coffee, the Religious Right, the NYT, Faux News, etc., etc., all make dam certain that they keep on covering up for this bastard. They could care less that our country is going broke, that our military is broken and tired, that we have lost the respect of the World because of them. They are just as responsible as Bush and Co. they cover up, lie, make up shit and then when they are caught it's another friggin "investigation".
There must be at least twenty thousand investigations going on, and guess what we don't hear any results. Until this idiot is impeached or held to account nothing will change.

The biggest danger to democracy in our country is the complete capitulation of our media to those in power.

It is not the thugs of al Qaeda or some crazed mullahs and imams of Afghanistan or Iran who can ever destroy America. It is our media.

Musharraf previous denied media reports that nearly 6,000 lawyers and civil rights activists have been arrested. Today he relased 3500 and I understand another 2,200 are being released tomorrow. So where are these numbers coming from? There will still be another 1,000 in jail who need to be released including Imran Khan, Barrister Aitezaz Ahsan and the Supreme Court judges.

The White House needs to send an even sterner message and if Musharraf does not respond it should withdraw the support.

The Times on line is such a pathetic spin machine anyway. All the leads are buried deeper than Jimmy Hoffa's torso...

Bush's "good old boys" from the Reagan White House are responsible for Pakistan's nuclear weapons program and for concealing that fact that Pakistan was selling material and expertise to other third world country's and even Al Qaeda.
For the New York Times to conceal what they knew is nothing short of treason. Pakistan's nuclear shenenigans undermine US national security.

If you find this story shocking or surprising, it means that for some reason you still read the New York Times.

I dont find this story surprising at all.

This paper seriously lacks credibility in my estimation, and is simply not a necessary read anymore. Why base your access to information on the accounts of the people who brought you Judith Miller????
