President Bush yesterday offered his strongest support of embattled Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, saying the general "hasn't crossed the line" and "truly is somebody who believes in democracy."

Bush spoke nearly three weeks after Musharraf declared emergency rule, sacked members of the Supreme Court and began a roundup of journalists, lawyers and human rights activists. Musharraf's government yesterday released about 3,000 political prisoners, although 2,000 remain in custody, according to the Interior Ministry.

The comments, delivered in an interview with ABC News anchor Charles Gibson, contrasted with previous administration statements -- including by Bush himself -- expressing grave concern over Musharraf's actions. In his first public comments on the crisis two weeks ago, Bush said his aides bluntly warned Musharraf that his emergency measures "would undermine democracy."

Now about the success in Iraq due to the Escalation.... The success is from having the extra troops.. As soon as the troops leave the rebels will be back. Another version of success may be from the billions of American Taxpayer dollars the Neo Con Parasites are pouring into Propaganda against the American Taxpayers by stating we're having success. Another version of success is having the deaths go back down to the pre escalation days. No different from before.
The Neo Con Parasites spent 1.6 trillion American dollars in Iraq thus far.
As I said before.. The Iraqi Civil War debacle is just another Vietnam. The rebels blend in with the population, Apply terror tactics. And pop back up when the U.S troops leave.
The incompetency is either real or a deliberate maquerade in order to continue to Pig Out at the United States Treasury to the tune of 10 trillion American Taxpayer dollars in Deficits that this Neo Con Administration has mired us into.
Treason at the hands of these Morally and Legally bankrupt Neo Con Parasites who have deregulated the Neo con owned Conglomerates in order to get a piece of their record profits.
INVESTIGATE with Non Partisan Special Prosecutors and if warranted.. IMPEACH and CONVICT these Neo Con Parasites who are supported by their fellow Neo Con Parasites, Republican Mushrooms who are kept in the dark and fed feces and the Religious Idiots who are awaiting their Rapture by any means possible. And who comprise the 11%-21% of American Citizens that support these Neo Con Leeches as George Bush continues to pee down our backs and call it rain.
Any rebuttal from the Neo Con Parasites and Republican Lemmings with their noses up the Liar in Chief's butt as they hurl themselves off the CLiff of Stupidity?

"Musharraf truly is somebody who believes in democracy."

But, he PREFERS dictatorship, that's all!

He "hasn't crossed the line"

He's just cracking down on the opposition and waterboarding people. But that's not torture.

Look the 800 lb gorilla in the room has and always will be American style laizze faire capitalism. It's all about the money. Bush-Cheney are just puppet-monkeys to carry out policies that favor the capitalists gluttonous pursuit of profits. They will make deals with the devil himself - human rights don't matter, morality doesn't matter, lifes don't matter if they get in the way, laws/rules don't matter, democracy doesn't matter, dictatorships don't matter, the environment doesn't matter. What matters is $$$ and these capitalists desire to live out their lives in wealth, riches and insulated from the world's problems by high fences, security guards and the military industrial complex to insure their war machine is well oiled and protects them. Think about it. The 800 lb gorilla is the problem and not his puppet-monkeys like Bush-Cheney.

When you realize Bush and his buddies are corporate raiders and the American Treasury is what he is raiding, what he does makes sense. But not in a good way! He doesn't give a fig for democracy. Thats why he can support thugs. At his heart he believes in royalty with himself being king.

Bush is like the abusive boyfriend in our democratic relationship. He gets in barfights with random guys, smacks us around a bit, and then says, "I only do it because I love you."

I suspect President Bush really does think Musharraf believes in democracy----the very same type of democracy Bush advocates for our own nation; i.e., without civil rights for all, without any balance of powers----in other words, a democracy in which the President can lie at will about anything, and do whatever he wants without any boundaries or moral consequence.

Musharraf is the one calling the shots, not Bush. He probably sent Negroponte with a message back to the White House:

"You brought Bhutto(mole) back to Pakistan, your stirring the pot(supporting dissent), you want regime change(person on the board). Mr. Bush please take back your nuclear controls back. We no longer need nor desire your assistance".

Thats why GW is kissing ass now! Things in Pakistan are spinning out of control and GW is looking down the barrel of a double barrel nuclear shotgun.

Let's see. Martial law is running Pakistan.

Bush supports Musharraf, who imposed said martial law.

Those in Pakistan who support democracy, as defined by Western nations, have been rounded up and jailed.

PAKISTAN HAS NUCLEAR WEAPONS.

If Musharraf is overthrown Bush has no backup plan to deal with a rogue nation with nuclear weapons.

It better not be as bad as those facts seen to allude to. Because if it really is that bad Bush WILL have to answer to who will be in charge of those nuclear weapons.

Somewhat along these lines, the Supreme Court is considering whether a DC law that outlaws handgun ownership, even in the privacy of ones' home, is constitutional.
At issue is the second amendment and whether or not it applies to private ownership or only to an organized malita.
Here's the question. As the amendment was origionally passed to allow citizens to form a malita TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM THE GOVERNMENT, now that GW has given himself power over all National Guard units, can the National Guard still be considered a local malita?
