USA Today :

At least 20,000 U.S. troops who were not classified as wounded during combat in Iraq and Afghanistan have been found with signs of brain injuries, according to military and veterans records compiled by USA TODAY.

The data, provided by the Army, Navy and Department of Veterans Affairs, show that about five times as many troops sustained brain trauma as the 4,471 officially listed by the Pentagon through Sept. 30. These cases also are not reflected in the Pentagon's official tally of wounded, which stands at 30,327.

Maybe the thanksgiving turkey should be replaced by an ostrich. Head in the sand, and all that.

Just remember people, when you go to the polls in 2008... Republicans support the war, not the troops. Democrats support the troops, not the war.

If Bush and Hillary get their way, this war is going to continue for the next 20 years or more. Its time the onion is peeled and all whom have been proffitting from it, exposed, tired for treason and war crimes. The cover ups, gag orders on the media have to end. This is our country, or so I thought. When did we allow a president and vice president to ignore the consitituion, declare war on the US and its people, our troops? If this was France or any other country, we would be in the streets protesting the hell out of this farce, our economy, how our people are abused, our troops walked all over. What happened to our spine, our backbone, our voices? We allowed false prophets to tell us how to think, speak, read, hear. Prophets who are taking people's money, lying to them and robbing them blind. This is the USA, and its time the people took back thier country, backed our troops who are left to die, thier deaths's covered up, murdured by blackwater. I am not republican, I am not a dem. I am an American. I support our troops, thier families, demand fair treatment for all of us. Those of you who choose to continue to listen to the false prophets, I pity you. Its idiots who have allowed Bush and co, to destroy the fiber of this country, our values, morals and ethics. Worse, he has been allowed to destroy our economy, for greed. Great values there. Real family man, supporter of the people. NOT.

How much more info does this country need before it recognizes what a colossal f-up Bush and his war is?

It'll take ten years and a long memorial wall to convince
this country that this has been a disaster.

THANKS CONGRESS!

They are probably hiding these injuries because half of them were shot by Blackwater.

The overwhelming majority of successes in capturing or killing terrorist leaders has been achieved by good police work, by US and others, and not by waging wars and bombing cities, and killing and injuring hundreds of thosand civilians to catch kill a few terrorists.

In fact, wars and mass killings have resulted in increasing the number of terrorists.

Our soldiers died for nothing.

They died not for America, but for oil companies and defense contractors.

Why do we believe anything the Bush administration says? Does any really believe that violence is down in Baghad? Or have they simply changed for the 100th time how they calculate deaths, attacks and bombings to make the numbers look better.

Heaven help us until George W. Bush and his liars leave office. And we must hope that Hillary Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton does not become president or the war and the lying will continue.

It seems the more actual statistics we get from Iraq, the more the bubbleheads discount them.

Witness this post on Truthout today:

“The average American believes that 10,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed since the US invasion in March 2003. The most commonly cited figure in the media is 70,000. But the actual number of people who have been killed is most likely more than one million.

This is five times more than the estimates of killings in Darfur and even more than the genocide in Rwanda 13 years ago.

The estimate of more than one million violent deaths in Iraq was confirmed again two months ago in a poll by the British polling firm Opinion Research Business, which estimated 1,220,580 violent deaths since the US invasion. This is consistent with the study conducted by doctors and scientists from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health more than a year ago. Their study was published in the Lancet, Britain's leading medical journal. It estimated 601,000 people killed due to violence as of July 2006; but if updated on the basis of deaths since the study, this estimate would also be more than a million.”

The sheer discrepancy between the Whitehouse spin and any semblance of reality can only be supported though an enabling media. It is not balanced reporting to air the view that the moon is a balloon. When this administration steps into the twilight zone, they should be met incredulous laughter, and their lies viewed as what they are … lies … and not just another point of view.

These events are a big problem. We need young men to sign up to defend this place and they shouldn't feel down for doing honorable duty. Stop the lies before nobody signs up for the damn military.

Only a Republican could manage to lose wars in third world countries like Iraq and Afganistan.

When I think of the war and the Media and Bush causing it, not understanding the real problem, I think of Christ on the cross speaking "Bless them Father...they know not what the do"...
