Romney

CNN:

Following his "Ask Mitt Anything" event in Amherst, Mitt Romney told voters and reporters that presidential candidates should refrain from discussing with young people their early life "indiscretions."

The former Massachusetts Governor's statements were a response to Sen. Barack Obama's visit to a Manchester high school Tuesday where he told students he was a "goof off" in high school and had experimented with drugs and alcohol.

Yes. If you are a conservative like Romney, you believe that lying to children is an acceptable choice.

Utter bullshit. If you want to guide a child, you present the world as it is. Not understanding the primacy of truth is a hallmark of the American conservative. It is why so many of them think they need handguns - to protect them against the chaos that lies create.

If Mitt Romney is elected president will he take the oath of office on a King James Bible or the Book Of Mormon?

MITT is about as abnormal as any adolescent could be! It is normal to rebel, and experiment somewhat. People can learn for others experiences. Perhaps Mitt believes "just saying no" is usually sufficient!!

The mormon probably has something very bad to hide.

Maybe Mitt's just miffed that HE wasn't invited to participate in the "Mormons Exposed" calendar. (Or, maybe he was invited but didn't understand the calendar's concept--thinking that "exposed" meant something else.)

Yes, by all means, continue the hypocrisy and the newspeaking lies
because truth can be a very dangerous thing to the GOP and DLC!

I kinda wish Mitt and Hillary would come clean about a whole host of things. But, that would be out of character for them.

I agree with Romney on this, young people are very impressionable. Their parents taught them to say NO TO DRUGS, here comes a politician seeking the highest office of the land waving it at their noses that its okay to use drugs and still you can run for office as President and get the vote of the American People.

Young people are like wet cement, whatever falls on them leaves an impression.

As a liberal conservative, I don't believe in political correctness.

Good for you Romney for saying it as is, this country have lost its morals and values.

Mitt is being unclear, methinks.

When questioned about their pasts...

Should presidential candidates flat-out lie?

Should they say they "didn't inhale" which was widely ridiculed by Romney's side?

Or should they tell the truth?

Don't Mormons say to tell the truth?

Oh dear another rich white republican who ran from fighting for his country, wrapping him self in the flag for a photo op.

How come the only time these guys really use the flag is when they want their picture taken?

George Carlin hit the nail on the head. Allow me to paraphrase.

"War is rich old men sending middle class, and lower class men and women off to die; it's all about owning things, it always has been."

You could understand why the rich old men would want to keep their indiscretions secret from the young.

Mitty-boy states that pols should avoid discussing their indescretions. Why? So he can do it for them on the campaign stump after pulling unfounded allegations out of his ass?

The clown parade continues . . .

It's called a preemptive strike Mitt! Ever hear that term? The choice is fess up or wait for the right wing attack machine to dig it up.

Yeah - given that Mitt avoided Military Duty during Vietnam and none of his 5 sons think that the war their daddy supports is worth their time.

I can see why Mitt doesn't want to talk about "indiscretions" such as sending others to fight in wars that both he and his sons did not and do not think are worth any sacrifice on their part.

But I keep thinking about why Mittens children aren't in Iraq and that my friends and their children are.

I sure they would gladly trade places and even push Mittens and the LDS's political ambitions.
