Legalize drugs. Remove black market profit and reduce crime. Tax it. Regulate it. Prescribe it. Educate people. Register addicts, treat the ones who want off. Whatever. But wake up, people. Prohibition does NOT work!

Senator Abama is being honest about smoking pot when he was younger...like every other person in America has, regardless if he or she is Demo or Repub, yes?

But here's the rub: If you're running for President of the United States, your youthful discretions are defended by that was then, and this now...drugs need to be scientifically validated for 'legal' use, and until then, i don't support its recreational use, and it's still against the law.

Of course when you are of legal age in your State, it's alright to smoke a pack of 'cancer' sticks, and polish off a quart of Wild Turkey! that's legal drugs, but if you inhale one smokeful of Cannibis, you're a felon.

i'm not advocating legalizing drug use in general, but i'm pointing out the hypocrisy of our country's mixed signals it sends to our youth today. Do like what adults do, and refrain from these bad drugs, and go clean during your teens, and then smoke and drink all you want when you come of age. Can be rather confusing, yes?

The best way for America to clean up its act on drug use in general, is to out-law all drug use for consumption, and that includes coffee and prescription drugs, too! And that would be impossible...and think of how much revenue America's business would loose. It would be in the $Trillions of dollars!

It seems like Obama has largely diffused the situation by being honest and by expressing a rational and experienced opinion drug policy. If he wins the election maybe other politicians will see that honesty and reason work and will start trying it too. I can only hope, but I bet in the end the others will try to appear honest but won't actually inhale.

Finally someone who says what everyone already knows, instead of trying to tell everyone, well I tried it but I didn't inhale, or well I was around it, but GOD told me not to try it so I didn't. Mr. Obama, I for one did not inhale nor did I partake even though I was among friends that did partake and inhaled, I was making a choice then and I was stronger for it against the odds.

It's best to be the one to air out one's own transgressions--to be able to frame it in one's own fashion--rather than have someone else do it; someone with their own agenda.
