In a heated exchange this morning on Fox News Sunday, former Sen. Fred Thompson took host Chris Wallace to task for what he claims is a "constant mantra" of attacks on Thompson from Fox News.

Thompson reacted to two clips from Fox News contributors Charles Krauthammer and Fred Barnes sharply criticizing Thompson's candidacy.

"I don't know if Fox has been going after you," Wallace said, defending his network's coverage.

But Thompson insisted -- "From day one, they said I got in too late --" only to have Wallace interrupt. "Well, there are a lot of people besides Fox who said that."

Watch the full exchange below, and tell HuffPost your thoughts: is Fox News biased against Thompson? And is this a smart move on Thompson's part?

Oh, come on Fred, 'The Night of the living Dead' is alive and well in the Republican Party...if Fox News critizes you as brain dead, can you imagine what the rest of us considers you?

All eight Republican's running for President of the United States are either 'Neanderthals' from the deepest cave, 'nutcases' preaching and singing 'Onwards christian soldiers...', or 'radical reactionaries' screaming for no government is good government. let's face it: The Republican candidates represent to the American people no future for peace abroad, or economic stability at home, and the ability to bring honesty and integrity back to the White House in '08.

every msm channel has their own set of paid hacks (experts) to persuade the american people how they should think. thanks to the internet the electorate will be better in formed. and opinions by the average american citizen will be shared, reinforced, challenged, and formed. what an incredible elevation of general awareness the internet brings to everyone. before we vote remember the democratic party has as its position highspeed internet in every home in america. vote for those that have our greater interest in mind. forget conservatism think progressivism.

Be scared my fellow Democrats, be mightly scared! Proof positive that Fox and the White House are in cahoots! Their candidate is Rudy, and if Karl Rove has one more trick up his sleeve, or the Supreme Court gets a say in the 08 election, we're screwed! With Fox News in their back pocket, the Rethugs will eat their young to get them out of Rudy's path!

Once the overwhelming evidence piles up about the corruption and fraud in New York City under mayor Rudy Giuliani we'll see Fox News finally abandoning him. Inevitably, they will have to support Mitt Romney whose Mormon faith claims they can achieve godhood here on Earth. Romney is the only one who anyone, at least at this point, can say is squeaky clean, flip-flops notwithstanding.

Fred Thompson is simply another one of those Republican buffoons who is trying to present the avuncular style ala Ronald Reagan whose smile alone endeared many a swooning female during his Death Valley Days TV program. Uh, well, maybe not too many on this forum remember that but in any case Thompson is no more Ronald Reagan than Dan Quayle was John F. Kennedy.

Let Thompson foam and fume all he wants against Fox News. They deserve each other.

Good grief Thompson too late?

I am surprised he even knew there was an election next year.

If we start with the unassailable premise that Fox News is, in effect, a PR arm of the Republican party, then we need to analyze this tete-a-tete more carefully. Whatever is touted as fair and balanced news, save for the weather-- most of the time, a heaping dose of skepticism is needed. Hence, a reasonable take might be that the interview itself was designed to give lie to the hearsay (learned this word from Arthur Branch) that Fred is no longer among us. Moreover, if Fox implies that Fred is not their man, it means he really is their stand-in for Rudy, in the likely event that America's Mayor shares the fate of his choice to head up Homeland Security, Bernie Kerik, prior to the Republican extravaganza in Minneapolis.

Can you blame ol' Fred. He probably doesn't want to vote for Hillary or Rudy, either. He knows the same things about the MSM that we all do.

The DESERTEC Concept

Satellite-based studies by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) have shown that, using less than 0.3% of the entire desert areas of the MENA region, solar thermal power plants can generate enough electricity and desalinated seawater to supply current demands in EU-MENA, and anticipated increases in those demands in the future.

Harnessing the winds in Morocco and on land around the Red Sea would generate additional supplies of electricity. Solar and wind power can be distributed in MENA and transmitted via High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission lines to Europe with transmission losses that would be no more than 10-15%. The Club of Rome and TREC are both pursuing this DESERTEC Concept: bringing technology and deserts into service for energy, water and climate security. Countries like Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia have already shown an interest in this kind of cooperation.

Seems there must be a feeling of impending doom amongst these GOP hacks when you can't even leave them in same room together.

Chris Wallace looks as scared as he did when Bill Clinton got in his face. He is a weasel and is hardly a hard hitting journalist. He couldn't make the team with a network.

I say good for Fred. Fox News is a fad that's style is over and their ratings are falling everyday. Much like Rovian politics. People view them as a propaganda machine and it is clear, probably even to the Nascar fans, that Fox is beating the drum for Rudy.

But Fred, didn't Colin Powell's son, a hard-core
"values conservative" make SURE that Fox
acted properly, as head of the FCC??
Why, SOME people might think that "vast right-
wing conspiracy" might actually be fact.
