In a heated exchange this morning on Fox News Sunday, former Sen. Fred Thompson took host Chris Wallace to task for what he claims is a "constant mantra" of attacks on Thompson from Fox News.

Thompson reacted to two clips from Fox News contributors Charles Krauthammer and Fred Barnes sharply criticizing Thompson's candidacy.

"I don't know if Fox has been going after you," Wallace said, defending his network's coverage.

But Thompson insisted -- "From day one, they said I got in too late --" only to have Wallace interrupt. "Well, there are a lot of people besides Fox who said that."

Watch the full exchange below, and tell HuffPost your thoughts: is Fox News biased against Thompson? And is this a smart move on Thompson's part?

Once again the Republicans can give it, but they can't take it. Poor Fred Thompson, he was the anointed savior, now he can't get any lovin' from his GOP brethren. Fred "yawn" Thompso.....snore.

I hope Joe Torre is immune from owner influence with the LA Dodgers. It would be a pity for the team to be controlled ala Fox news

Chris Wallace rode into broadcast journalism on his daddy's good name and reputation. Too bad he doesn't have his daddy's character and integrity. I feel sorry for Mike, having to watch his son prostitute himself and tarnish the Wallace name in broadcast journalism.
Why any self-respecting journalist would want to work for Murdock and Fox is beyond me. It's obvious the RNC money is behind Fox, and those commentators and reporters are all bought and paid for. They sold their professionalism and souls to the devil himself.

First the Democrats tell Foxnews to screw themselves with the debates.

Then Romney says - No Thanks - to being on a Foxnews Presidential Debate.

Now Thompson is calling out Foxnews for bias.

At some point even some of Foxnews Viewers are going to have to start asking - what's up with Foxnews that even Republicans are bashing them...

Chris Wallace should kiss his fathers butt every day for providing the sperm that created him.

If his name was Chris Smith he would be one of the faceless mid-level, smirking managers who populate most businesses.

When it comes to Mike Wallace he fell far from the tree. He's smug and he rides his dad's air or journalistic credibility. His response to this exchange reminds me of his "who us" reaction to his exchange with Bill Clinton. Either Fox attracts corrupted journalists or corrupts journalists...don't know which but it doesn't matter.

Actually, Thompson is 100% right. Fox noise is well known as being "in the tank" for Rudy Giuliani. Roger Ailes is practically in love with Rudy, and is known to take time off of work to personally "blow" him.

I would never vote for Thompson, or any other Republican, but he seems like a far more decent guy then Rudy or Mitt. Thompson has a right to come down on Fox and thier biased, d-bag commentators like O'Reilly, Hanntiy and ol Wallace.

PS. Boy, watching Chris Wallace....it's pretty clear the apple fell about a mile from the tree on that one for poor ol Mike.

I'm surprised Thompson roused himself enough to find something specific to comment upon. Fox News biased in their coverage? Say it isn't so, Fred!

Senator Thompson is right. The cowardly innuendo, so popular with current newscasters, show hosts, journalists and other evangelical evils, goes against the strict impartiality and honesty demanded by their professions. Also by the FCC, if it is ever organized to perform.
My advice to Fred is to do what I did the time I ran for office. I was ferociously attacked by a few pundits, who researched my life and found a list of peccadilloes I am still proud of and recall with almost ecstasy. I simply asked Uncle Rudy to give me a hand. He did and from then on my enemies were quickly de-krauthammerized, de-barnesized and de-limburgerized, and turned into fervent admirers.
Uncle Rudy sentenced: "They have cockroach mentalities and must be treated as such!"
I still I don't know what he did to them.
