Jerry Seinfeld Gets Royal Treatment In Israel

Jerry Seinfeld's trip to the Holy Land got so much hype it rivaled news of key upcoming Mideast talks. The Jewish comic visited Israel for the first time in decades to promote his new animated movie about bees, and he was treated like royalty _ literally.

Few entertainers get to meet both the Israeli prime minister and president. Seinfeld saw both, as well as touring the official Israeli Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem _ the route taken by visiting world leaders.

Newspapers devoted nearly full-pages to his trip. And references to his humor crept into serious items in the news.

I wonder if they got the news down there that he had found workshops in scientology useful. Somehow that doesn't quite seem kosher, but I thought it was great that Seinfeld isn't close-minded or opposed to finding a dogma that makes sense to him (even if he did make quite a living portraying a life about nothing).

Who knows? Maybe Israelis are as stupid as Americans. Jerry might be the next PM. He seems to think pretty quickly on his feet (on TV).

Let's hope Seinfeld does not become an apologist for Zionism. The state of Israel was born out of terror and colonialism, as well as a sense of entitlement by Zionists. It's just wierd to see him hobnobbing with these people.

He deserves it. His show was the best, and his fellow comedians acknowledge him as the "wordsmith" of their craft, as well as one of the best there ever was.

BTW, he's humble. Larry King is a nitwit who has been getting worse and who has long been notorious among entertainers for not doing any homework and often being absolutely clueless about his guests. He finally got called out, and Jerry Seinfeld has the gravitas to make a real point.
