For the love of God, please stop enabling them.

"Only 39 days until the Iowa caucuses," Tim Russert gravely intoned over the dramatic John Williams "Meet the Press" score. "The Democratic race: too close to call. The Republican race: too close to call. Which issues, policies, strategies will resonate?"

If Mr. Russert really wanted a thoughtful and provocative discussion of that subject, then why did he--yet again--hand over half of his show to James Carville and Mary Matalin, two of the four panelists whose punditry monopolized Sunday's one-hour broadcast?

Oh please they are wed to the same corporatists in DC-not a lot of difference between them.Besides the walking corpse called the harridan to let her know what was going on in the Kerry campaign.Another one of the fine people that are Clintons "back to the future"
All you need to know is the company they keep-cannot wait till they are no longer relevant and think that day is closer all the time unless we get the annoited one .then it will be all these clowns once again.

Name Change:

Meet the Press will now be known as Meet the Pack,

thanks to Timmy's dumbing down discussions, panelists

and news worthy topics. Gossip spoken with authoritative

toned voices is hardly compelling but is laughable.

And the visual camera shots of Timmy and his guests are too funny for a

Sunday morning show. Cartoons are still preferred viewing

on Saturday mornings.

I was never able to figure out how this kind of marriage works. Talk about your love/hate. Then I saw a repeat showing of "Pulp Fiction" - and it dawned on me: James and Mary must have met by chance in a pawn shop in South Central. James with a red ball in his mouth, Mary standing over him with her Bush-paddle...makes your heart flutter.

I love these two. It was the first Meet the Press I watched since Russert screwed over Don Imus

Ah those clubby chummy insiders bantering back and forth with their insider agendas. True academics, in touch citizens, or people with fresh perspectives need not apply. The media is too busy talking to itself.

Because NBC and Russert are part of the Bush/Clinton cabal, with Matalin and Carville as their official spokesmouths.

Its all part of the political duopoly that has been consolidating power for the past two decades.

What is it with those Clinton apologists. Are you lowering your bar just to accommodate a female? I think her record speaks for itself.
Voting records are obtainable on line so there is no excuse. If you vote for her then you don't really mind Bush being in charge. Hillary will be more of the same and don't be surprised when you wake up too late and ask what happened. She is not our woman nor is Obama our next minority president. Both are not kosher.

TWO MORE REASONS TO NOT WATCH, MEET THE PRESS.

And only One Reason was necessary.

Not only are they two of the most overbearing bores, they're ugly and obnoxious. No one really gives a shit what they say and for Tim to keep bringing them on, how knows? I guess no one else wants to be on his show but these two gaseous windbags.

Gosh, gee whiz, holy cow, how do Carville/Matllin manage to live under the same roof? Is Russart's audience to guffaw along with him every time he introduces these two?

Their bickering and predictable insights have grown increasingly stale Tim. We know you are all dear friends, but it's time to drop them from future line-ups.

The five of them are such whores they should be required to broadcast the panel from the salon of The Bunny Ranch.

I see dead people.

When I see these two beltway clowns I think democracy is dead, one party rules and has for decades now. We need a real democratic party in this country once again!

Russert's show - and it is a show, not news - is worthless.

He is like the guy whose dog shits on your lawn. You don't like him. But if he doesn't show one day you wonder where he is.

When I look at the picture of Carville and Matalin that accompanies this article my mind keeps returning to one horrifying thought: These two had children!

Here's a better question: why does anyone watch Russert's show?

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 10:41 PM on 11/26/2007

Why does Russert do this? Simple. Carville and Matalin have been beloved by CNN and the major cable news networks since the early 90's. They're connected to CNN and FOX. The station considers them solid standbys, the kind of names that people will tune in and watch. It's hard to find names that popular among a sea of politicos that will bring in viewers. The fact that we're even discussing this pretty much proves that point. I've seen far, far worse politicos given air time to thump their candidates. It's hard to find some worse, but there you go.

Why are they recognizable? It's almost Jerry Springeresque. They're married and each support candidates that are political opponents. Not only that, they were each insiders with two presidents that ended up being two term presidents. CNN thinks that they prove that we can all "just get along", so they put them out there. It's freakin silly as anything, but that's how it is.
