Bush

McClatchy Newspapers:

President Bush, who's largely ignored the risky business of Middle East peacemaking throughout his nearly seven years in office, will take center stage Tuesday at the international peace conference he's hosting in Annapolis, Md.

He won't remain there for long, however. Bush plans to head back to the White House after delivering his opening speech to the diplomats and dignitaries at the U.S. Naval Academy, and while surprises are always possible, White House aides said he wasn't planning to offer new American proposals to resolve the conflict.

Israel does not want peace, any more than Bush does.
Israel's plan is to anihilate the Palestinaians or make conditions for them so severe that many will chose to leave. It's their "Final Solution."
While the Bush family made its fortune financing Hitler's Third Reich, Bush now sees the advantage of embracing Israel (which uses many tactics from Hitler's play book):
He must appeal to his "Christian" base, which awaits the restoration of the Kingdom of Israel and the second coming of the Messiah (even if he doesn't believe it).
He must fall in line with the AIPAC and PNAC, whose mantra is to dominate Middle Eastern oil reserves, and eliminate all of Israel's enemies in the region.
Using Israel's security and our need for oil as excuses, he and Cheney (along with many others in Congress, their relatives and close friends, and the cabinet) have amassed personal fortunes since our venture into Iraq.
Bush is no statesman either. He just signed an agreement with al-Maliki guaranteeing a prolonged presence in Iraq, and is still putting pressure on Iraqis to accept the terms of our oil-revenue "sharing" agreement, which will leave scraps for them, but allow foreign firms to drill, harvest, secure, refine and market their oil world-wide.
There's no plan for political reconciliation or stability in Iraq. There never was. By throwing the country into chaos, and propping up a puppet regime, we're free to rape and pillage that country for its oil reserves, and further enrich the military-industrial complex in which our government officials have a vested interest.

How long was the President's last vacation?

The Cardboard Cutout Presidency.

Bush talks the talk, as long as it's a dictate or a blame.
Struts the strut.
But then dodges any real connection with anyone who might put him to a test.

I just read an article in the National Geographic about Bethlehem in 2007. The entire city is surrounded by a 3-story tall wall, called a "security fence." Citizens of that city cannot leave, work outside (except low-paying jobs to help Israeli's build new settlements on THEIR own land). They do so just to keep their children from starving. This city has a large Christian population, and has not been a hot-bed of trouble or uprisings.
According to Amnesty International and the U.N., Malnutrition amongst Palestinian children is at 22%. Acute malnutrition and anemia is over 15%. Unemployment is over 60%. The Israeli government limits shipments of food, water, fuel and medicine to the West Bank and Gaza.
Hitler rounded up people and put them in ghettos and camps. The conditions were deplorable. Many starved to death, and others died of diseases caused by lack of sanitation. During cold weather, many died of exposure, as there was no fuel for heat.
The world condemned Hitler. There have been 138 U.N. resolutions Israel has obfuscated, ignored, circumvented or just outright denied beginning with 242 (regarding the occupied Palestinian terrirtories). Their fence is not about securing Israeli's, but to choke off and isolate the Palestinians, forcing them either to leave or live in inhumane de-facto detainee or refugee status. It's Israel's "Final Solution," much akin to Hitler's, to rid themselves of all indigenous Palestinians.
Israel has repeatedly violated Lebanese air space with bombing raids, not counting the carnage they inflicted upon Lebanese civilians and that country's infrastructure.

Poor Condi. She's just trying to accomplish something good before she leaves.

I wonder how many nights she cries herself to sleep realizing what a waste these past 7 years have been.

You have to be able to carry on a conversation without reading from a written script. And someone is liable to ask him a question he does not understand, like "What time is it'?
Idiot!

President Bush is a disgrace to our Country, our media is a disgrace to our Country, our Government is a disgrace to our Country, most Americans are asleep and have no idea of what is happening, they are a disgrace to our Country.

I'm sure he was ADVISED "NOT" to stick around as he has foot in mouth disease.

He is only comfortable with a HAND-PICKED AUDIENCE and a COMPLETE SCRIPT before him.

It would be a disaster if he was involved, and everyone knows it.

Just another (non)news photo-op for this pathetic White House, INCLUDING the EVER-USELESS CONDI RICE.

Mideast Peace talks speech from the President of the United States, whom has caused more uproar in the Middle East and will provide no negotiations for anything here, nor does he have a clue of what is going on. President Bush, Condolice Rice, what a joke, this is a display to the World of trying to accomplish absolutely nothing, but rather push Iran into a Corner.

The bottom line with Israel is this, there will be no agreements with the Palestinians, unless Israel agrees to leave the occupied terroritories of the Palestinians, no more walls, no more robbing the land, let go of the water and electrical supplies, let these people live, have some freedom. They are living in an oversized prison camp, compliments of Israel Zionism and American Taxpayer dollars, supporting it.

We are supporting Israel for the same thing we tried to protect the Jews from under Hitler's regime. This is what Americans don't understand, Palestine is like the Jewish People were, in Germany that were persecuted under Hitler, the roles have been reversed. The Jews are now persecuting the Palestinians, like the Jews were persecuted in Germany, simply because of religon.

Jimmy Carter is so right in this issue and American's refuse to believe it. Let one American or One Israel Citizen, go to the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and let them live one week there, under the conditions they live in, and this wouldn't last a month. This is unjust and if you keep suppressing people well I am sorry, they just want to feed their children, and they wonder why people get so angry.

Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.

He can't hang around too long for a peace conference ... he has two wars to finish, and a third one to prepare.

It's called time management!

Mario Cuomo supports impeachment:

"In February and March 2003, Mr. Bonifaz served as lead counsel for a coalition of US soldiers, parents of US soldiers, and Members of United States Congress|Congress]] in John Doe I v. President Bush, a constitutional challenge to President Bush’s authority to wage war against Iraq absent a congressional declaration of war or equivalent action. He argued that the President’s planned first-strike invasion of Iraq violated the War Powers Clause of the US Constitution. [2] The lawsuit was initially dismissed in February 2003 and in March 2003 the dismissal was upheld on appeal...

Bonifaz wrote the 2004 book Warrior-King: The Case for Impeaching George W. Bush[5], which chronicles that case and its meaning for the United States Constitution. The book argues that the Iraq War was illegal...."
