McClatchy Newspapers:

President Bush, who's largely ignored the risky business of Middle East peacemaking throughout his nearly seven years in office, will take center stage Tuesday at the international peace conference he's hosting in Annapolis, Md.

He won't remain there for long, however. Bush plans to head back to the White House after delivering his opening speech to the diplomats and dignitaries at the U.S. Naval Academy, and while surprises are always possible, White House aides said he wasn't planning to offer new American proposals to resolve the conflict.

Syria is only sending their Deputy Foreign Minister.
Maybe he feels snubbed?
Seriously, what could he add to the conversation?
It is a Peace Conference after all.
I think he has a temper.
Hope he's not a Taurus like me.
Never get anything done without an arguement,
unfortunately.

!
I loved this part,

"...he wasn't planning to offer new American proposals..."

Could that be because he has no new proposals?

At least the man knows his limitations, for once.

The shame at not having Our President participate as more than a "facilitator" in the peace conference is more than overwhelmed by relief that Our President is not negotiating on behalf of *anyone* in the process. Especially us. Don't want him negotiating for *me*. Nope. That would be wrong. Oh boy. Him and Jesus are not on my side.

He's going to be too busy planning his next vacation in Crawford.
From a Blogger whose name I can't remember:
Continued existence of the United Sates of America as a Democracy requires:
Impeachment
Justice requires:
Prosecution
Conviction
Incarceration

Of course not, that would require him to know something about the world, and about statesmanship. He has neither, so he can go clear some brush in Crawford and shut up.

Peace does not bring money. He is cheering
because the war between those two will continue assuring them more money. Ever thought about it who financed Arafat? Follow the money behind every war and you know your answer.
This is only to pacify us, putting on a show for us. Don't be so gullible. People on both sides want a normal life.

Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall of that summit?

The rallying point for every country involved will be the discussion of what an absolute idiot Bush is.

After this Train Wreck of a prez steps down, the world will come together like we've never seen.

PHOTO OPPORTUNISTIC BASTARD!
ten steps that "fascist, totalitarian, and other repressive leaders [employ to] seize and maintain power, especially in what were once democracies.” The ten steps are:
1. Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy
2. Create a gulag
3. Develop a thug caste
4. Set up an internal surveillance system
5. Harass citizens' groups
6. Engage in arbitrary detention and release
7. Target key individuals
8. Control the press
9. Dissent equals treason
10. Suspend the rule of law
