Every late night obit has a focus: Jack Paar was famous for walking off the air, Johnny Carson as the King of Late Night, Leno and Letterman for fighting over Carson's job and now Daly for being a no-talent (non-writing) picket line crossing scab/host/party boy.

It is too bad Copolla got hung up about Italian nepotism, but perhaps he will now extend his legendary directorial skills toward examining the nepotism in Hollywood --- the preeminent example being the WGA. First off, Frazier Moore, your beginning sentence implies that there is some cascade of talk shows which are about to go back on the air in defiance of the WGA strike, and yet you provide no evidence that this is so. That Carson Daly, himself not a writer, would go back on the air in NOT indicative of any sort of broad movement among late night talk show hosts. Either your writing is sloppy or you're a shill for the AMPTP. Second, this is hardly a significant piece of news. Carson Daly has long been a corporate product, devoid of talent, personality or intelligence. His show goes on at an hour when people are no longer awake and its ratings are a testament to Mr. Daly's utter lack of appeal. They didn't announce his first night's guests? Becuase we wouldn't know who they were.
