Newt Gingrich predicts Barack Obama will win the hotly contested vote in Iowa, saying the junior Senator from Illinois will motivate more energized supported than the former First Lady.

"My guess is Senator Obama's going to win Iowa and that he's going to win it by a surprising margin," the former Speaker of the House told ABC News' Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning America".

Obama, D-Ill., and Senator Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., will soon roll out the "charisma brigade", dispatching mega-surrogates Bill Clinton, campaigning for his wife, and Oprah Winfrey, making a first and rare foray into the political arena on behalf of Obama, whom the talk superstar has endorsed.

I just want to say that Newt is doing a disservice to Obama on this one. This is exactly what depresses the vote of the youth.

"Oh I guess Obama is going to win with a large margin so maybe I can stay home". That is B.S.!!!!

This is a tight race and Obama needs all the votes he can get. Everyone who feels that the country needs change need to go and speak their peace.

I don't think anybody wants to stay home and find out Obama lost by 200 or won by 100 or 200 points. The reason? The first you wont be able to forgive yourself for a while and the second is that the opposition would be quick to label it a virtual tie.

It must be a big win. Cheers! :>)

I love this. Newt, following in the steps of Oliver North, J Gordan Liddy and the other republicans who were booted from their seats due to illegal activities, and are now republican heroes and respected voices amongst the loyal.
Granted , the democrats are doing much better, but come on, the GOP might at least try to appear like the support something legal.

Well, didn't we know when he "Took over DC with the Contract" that it meant eventual DOOM for the Republican Party?

REPUBLICANS HAVE NO IMAGINATION!!! They depend on knee-jerking after Democrats ACT! All they can do is "Respond!"

They LEAD NOTHING! If they can't REACT to something, they'd just as well be nonexistent!! The Only operational mentality they relate to is Hitting something over the Head! They don't understand: Democracy, Diplomacy, Economics, Finance, Sex, Love, Childbirth, Crime, Honesty, Deep Thought,....Just about "Nothing" do they Understand!

Other than that, they can stay....as long as they keep their mouths SHUT!!

I have to agree with Newt. It looks like the tide is turning against Clinton. Hopefully it means that people are starting to actually pay attention.

Newt is nothing but a pesky little flea. Newt may have brought the republicans into power but he faded fast.

He pretends he's an intellectual but it's just an affected manner of speech. He tries to come off as honest instead of manufacturing political spin by beginning each sentence with, "Well, frankly speaking. . . " or "Frankly, I would. . . "

When Newt says "Frankly", just know that he's going to try to put one over on you.

lots of venom here...and I thought conservatives had the lock on that. Like so many other, we don't care what Newt predicts. He is usually wrong. But he is not endorsing Obama but merely predicting. I like Hillary but if there is substance to thie"

OMG Obama gets an "endorsement" from an evil Republican, and all of a sudden it's "shut up Newt" and "nobody cares."

Weren't you the same Obamaniacs who couldn't get enough of Bush's "endorsement" of Hillary?
