The writers strike is in its fourth week, with chilly prospects for viewing ahead.

During December, the schedule will be dominated by holiday specials and series repeats (not unlike any other year).

But come January, a prolonged strike could be all too obvious to viewers, with continuing episodic reruns interspersed with new reality shows.

They may not have "Our Miss Brooks, Mr. Peepers or
Captain Video reruns, but they must have the scripts somewhere. Live TV scripts done by Mexican actors. They could put in Telemundo, with subtitles.

With the writers strike, producers will try to weather the storm. If they can, it will prove that we are a nation of morons and idiots. Get ready for Writerless TV.

Do you have any idea what prolonged viewing of "Deal or No Deal" can do to the human brain? We have the Bachelor, where several women of great beauty and low esteem compete for a man. This sets women's right back 200 years.

I hear Fox has a new writerless show coming (besides American Idol) called "Pick Me! Pick Me!"
It seeks no talent. It has no prizes. It has no rules. You just get on TV, thereby proving you exist.

Cogito ergo video.

The WGA has given TV executives and TV viewers a GREAT opportunity. The best TV shows ever were made during the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. Bring them back. Ernie Kovacs, Steve Allen, Mary Tyler Moore, The DickVanDyke Show, Jack Paar's Tonight, Sid Caesar, The Bob Newhart Show, Johnny Carson's Tonight, The Wild, Wild West, The Jack Benny Program, That Girl, The Avengers, Carol Burnett, Sonny and Cher, Jackie Gleason, Kraft Television Theater, Studio One, Philco Playhouse, Playhouse 90, Armstrong Television Theater, Rowan & Martin's Laugh In, The Ed Wynn Show, The Saint, The Rifleman, Knight Rider, The Six Million Dollar Man, Mission Impossible, Superman, and on and on. Nothing created since even comes close (except Seinfeld). Make these classics the new stable for prime time TV on all networks. Bring back the best TV ever produced - and everybody wins, both young and old. After several months of seeing these classics, maybe, just maybe, the standard for acceptable TV will increase from its current toilet-level cr'ap-fest.
